there was a foil/chaser token idea thrown around for a while... printing a special run of "foil" tokens with high denominations which can be traded for in the tavern sounds like something reasonable to do.  probably only 1 print run would be needed.  this would reduce counterfeiting possibilities for most people but be expensive to make, but reduce the amount of required effort to maintain the exchange system.<br /><br />though this leads to another possibility collectors will want at least one of every denomination you make even if it's not special.<br /><br />in any system, even the current token system, it is possible for there to be counterfeit tokens.  whether it's counterfeit paper, wood, plastic chips, or embroidered-signed-laser-etched and antiqued... it is still possible to reproduce something if you have enough time.  look at the movie industry for example.<br /><br />well at least all the traded in wooden tokens would keep jeff warm in the winter

I didn't know they were collectible, or I'd have one of each by now.<br />Tell me, do these cops come in box sets, and if so, how many do you have to buy to have a reasonable chance of getting the full set right off the bat (no trades. They're terribly inconvenient to sell on eBay) ?

Raven,<br /><br />Normally a purchase of a case will yeild you a full set, but be warned you need to change your set out every couple of years. If you don't switch them out the old ones get flabby! My set just sits on the shelf collecting donuts!!<br /><br />

The topic was before they did the tokens and were refering to Paper Reserve Notes. If they didn't them it couldn't be just plain print as that would be easily replicated.<br />

<br /><br />There was someone who was suspected of trying to counterfit a wooden displacer cloak.  But since we never saw any cloaks that looked bad to me or a flood on E-bay I doubt he succeeded.  The new tokens would be very hard to counterfit.
