Adding an Artisan to the market 16 years 10 months ago #1

i am looking to sell once of the UR Artisan tokens i acquired last year. it is the Pearl Eagle Scepter. not sure if this is the best format to do it, but is anyone interested?

the last list price i saw for this token was $182. i would be unwilling to let it go for less than $100. i'd be inclined to do a direct sale at GenCon Indy 07, but if anyone will not be making it this year i would accept another payment arrangement.

I won't even touch that. Go for it, Gary!

I'd love to buy up tokens, but I really cannot see spending so much. Maybe if I had a million in the bank...

In any case, good luck to both sides of the trade, whomever may be involved.

Where did you see one sell for $182?

It might be in your interest to ebay it. I think someone sold one a few months ago, you might want to do a backsearch and see what it went for. (search for "true dungeon", I can't remember which artisan it was)

The tricky part is figure out when the buyers will have the most available cash, I suspect gencon might not be the best time because there is so many other things draining people right then. (Although that might give you maximum exposure, tough call...)

Gary's $50 is probably the best offer you're going to get, either here or on ebay. I would pay diddily squat for it personally since it has no functional purpose. I imagine most people are in that category. We might be willing to trade things for it that we have in excess, but that's about it.

The last ARTY went for $71 on eBay...I nabbed the Saphire Necklace on June 5th...before that I nabbed the Dryad Circlet for $51 (also on eBay).

Please do post it on eBay - it just works out easier that way...

having never sold one of these before (and not really wanting to in the first place), i was unsure of the procedure. i checked out the '06 token guide and found the list price for my token, which is what i was basing things on. i will take everyone's advice and probably just put it on ebay. thank you all for the posts!

The Eagle Scepter sold for 5000gp at auction originally but that can be a little misleading because it wasn't an Open Auction and there might have been one person interested at that price.

Pricing Artisan Tokens is a funny business because yes, they are rare but they have zero functionality so the market is exclusively collectors. From the ones sold so far, they generally are going for around $50.

Best bet is probably just drop it on eBay.

Good luck to you.

Not to mention, they aren't even 'pretty' anymore by comparrison. The chippies beat the snot out of them in the looks department. They were sweet when the alternative was just simple text but it's gone the way of the dodo now.
