TOPIC: What did the ingredients and pouches go for?

Re: What did the ingredients and pouches go for? 16 years 8 months ago #13

Thread derail, it was nice meeting you and your friend Joe. Sorry our run did not yield you more ingredients. Truth be told, 3 runs for me and I didn't pull a single ingredient or alchemist bag. I guess you just have to be able to pull 3 at a time to make it work :P

There were a crapload of ingredients floating around last year, but it just seemed like less this year. Maybe people simply held on to them this year as opposed to last. It's hard to really tell from the player's end. One way to do the combos next year and fix some of the problems people are going to have is to have one super duper need all 6x ingredients and then to offer other items that simply require varying numbers of different ingredients. A 6x, a 4x, and a 2x would be pretty spiffy. That would give people some amount of flexibility but still allow those that have been around for multiple years or prepped ingredients to have a better chance to put together something better. In addition to those combos that require ingredients, a couple combos could be tossed in that can be created without need for ingredients at all. That way, you've covered both bases with the maximum amount of flexibility. It would mean having around 5 different combo tokens, but that dosen't seem to be all that more than the 3 we had this year and there were 5 the year before.

Yeah it was good to meet you guys as well. Hopefully we can get in on a hardcore combat together next year. I find it funny that the solution we gathered off the floor puzzle seemed perfectly correct yet was so far off its laughable.
I know Raven went through and did not pull one in 4 runs...

I finally pulled one ingredient on my 5th run (using HoP on all runs)!

As for what they're worth, I know George the Far-Travelled was doing decent business, buying ingredients at 50 GP and selling for 100GP.
Those were the prices I quoted to any newbies who asked me what the ingredients were going for this year.

Myself, I was able to make quite a few trades for ingredient tokens, and some alchemist poiuches (thank you to everyone who traded with me!) I offered high-end uncommons (scroll of Stone-to-Flesh, etc.) or low-end rares for them (thunderstones, etc.). Except when trading with new players.. then I offered +1 Weapons, Elven Chain, Gauntlets of Ogre Power, etc. for ingredients & alchemist pouches.

The 2 on the 3rd row really didn't make sense with the "many" concept we toyed with.

It was actually 3 that we garnered from the "many" in the last line(not 3rd row). My buddy kept saying that 2 was many but I kept saying no 2 is a couple and 3 is many.

Regarding the topic of what ingredients went for - there's an ingredient token on Ebay that is up to $26. They must be much rarer this year than last.

On that note how about the ring of the eye going for over 30 dollars. What is the world coming to when the token you get at the end of the run pays for the run itself.
I'm as amazed at a common going for over $3 and an uncommon for over $4. And the ingredient is over $30 now itself.

I now feel silly selling my extra pouch for only 200 gold at GenCon. I think I could get 500 gold now.
