I just finished doing my laundry from GenCon and had been hearing a strange noise from the dryer while it was running my jeans ... anyhow, I ignored it until it was done and then opened it up ... and at the very bottom of my dryer was a "small steel mirror" token and I am pleased to say that those new treasure tokens are tough little coins! - it survived both a washer & a dryer!  No smudges, no dents ... just a clean little token!

You've heard of snake oil salemen?  Medusas do need to keep their scales polished!<br />

FYI, in addition to being a medusa, I ran through TD twice too ... so yes, I decided to go prepared with steel mirror in hand/pocket (of course, I still didn't look which I thought was hilarious) ... but of course, I'd already seen most of the other medusaes backstage already ... <br /><br />The thing I found most hilarious was that my group KNEW about the medusa and they ALL STILL ENDED UP LOOKING!!!  Six people had to make saving throws and we had THREE statues in our party by the end of combat ... I couldn't believe it ... I had told them not to look ... and they just couldn't help themselves!!!

I'm tickled that I saw the anagram on the statue outside the Medusa room.<br /><br />Daumes was the name of the artisan on the sign under the stone head...I caught that it was really saying MEDUSA.

Wow ... I didn't even notice that until you mentioned it!  lol  If anything I thought it was deliberately selected so you wouldn't be able to tell if it was a male or female name ...

Yeah - when we got our DM packets, I saw that as one of the clues that was going to be posted in the dungeon, and I thought to myself, "hmmm... Daumes the sculptor... medusa, huh?  clever."<br /><br />I like the use of anagrams for stuff.  =]

My party recognized the medusa and cleric exclaimed that he was going to keep looking even if she turned him to stone (which, of course, she did).

Yeah ... I knew of a bunch of guys (and gals) who were like that ... they make their first saving throw and they're just still standing around oogling at me afterwards ... sure enough, I get them a second time before them learn not to look ... and even then, there were some guys who just grinned and dealt with being turned to stone ... coz when you're stone, you can look all you want ...

<br /><br />Can you blame them?!  =)<br /><br />Great job Helene by the way.  You girls really added to the event and you were commented on frequently as the favorite part of the dungeon.  I wonder why...  :P

One of the things I've often heard people complain about TD is inconsistencies ... I'm surprised so far that I haven't heard anyone complain about how different medusas had different approaches to their role ... although I have the perfect explanation if such a complaint were to arise - just you TRY to train a woman ... ;)<br /><br />I think there were some medusas who talked, some who didn't, some who danced, some who didn't, some who got in your face, some who didn't, and of course you can only imagine what type of job Jeff had trying to convince us all to WEAR the same thing let alone DO the same thing ...  <br /><br />On the other hand, I'm pretty impressed how ALL the guy DMs had no issue wearing the same t-shirt ;)
