TOPIC: New 2009 Purple tokens (speculation)

<br />Have people actually been doing a lot of swapping of rings and such? I usually plan for things liek that then abandon them because I can't be bothered to frak with it mid-dungeon. The only time I've ever done a mid-dungeon swap it was to equip other people with rings of fire resistance for the save and die drider.<br />

Mainly after I did my first run, I just took some notes (writing down on a sheet of paper beforehand what I would be wear for particular rooms):<br /><br /><br />Stirge Room: Ring of the Eye and Ring of Protection<br /><br />Mind Flayer Room: Ring of Fire Resistance and Ring of Iron Will<br /><br />Giant/Angel Room: Ring of Protection plus Whatever<br /><br />Iuz Room: Ring of Iuz and Ring of Fortitude <br /><br /><br /><br />And of course I slipped on the Ring of Focus whenever casting Cure spells. Last room I also loaned the Ring of Focus and a Periapt of Proof Against Poison to the Wizard.<br /><br />So instead of fumbling around with tokens, I just write it down on paper and then show them the token (in my binder) if necessary.

I was all watered up to drink potions this year...but alas I did not mess with it.  I think as awesome as the belt is, I will just switch back to Girdle and maxing out my to hit and damage instead of DEX.  Might hurt missing with the Skull, but I missed sliding a 17 this year and that irked me just a tad!

  Well, technically a girdle is an elastic undergarmet that can be worn under a belt!  =D

Since I got to use my scroll of blink this year a Robe of the Mountebank where you can blink once per room. Normally it is the Dimension Door effect but I like the blink spell since it is already in effect in TD.<br /><br />I was going to post an idea regarding a Girdle or Belt of Shielding where the wearer doesn't take a -2 penalty for shielding another player but I can't figure out the logistics for it.<br /><br />Lady Myke

<br />Hmmm, why don't we do that one year? A TD 'tower of terror' type setup to see how many rooms you make it through. The design would be to really swat a party flat. Something like out of the old tomb of horrors. Maybe when there's more space.<br /><br />It could be like that episode of Knights of the Dinner Table when B.A. revealed to the group that one of the adventures was the monster manual, from A to Z, and Bob of Dave said that that had been the best adventure of all time.  For TD just create 4 rooms, put a group in each room, and then just start cycling through the various slider boards.  As each monster is defeated (or defeats a group) the people behind the scenes rotate them to the next room.  It would be a monster round robin meets tower of terror. <br /><br />Maybe this could be an activity at TD:DC.  Instead of or in addition to True Arena people could participate in TD Iron Man: Survival of the Fittest!<br />

<br /><br />Heh. I was thinking of something similar as well (relying on the shielding rule) but I was planning on saving it in case they do another Design-Your-Purp contest!    :cool:<br /><br /><br />

I know its not a purple but I would like to see bless come back.  Running low on them after this years Nightmare runs.
