How about a whip weapon? Probably uncommon, can act as ranged or melee, has a symbol - if symbol faces damage spot, treat monster as under effect of a weighted net (or tanglefoot bag).

I would assume that affect would be for that turn only as you would need to pull it back to do damage the following turn. Would it stack with Tanglefoot bag and/or net?

I was thinking it would last as long as you didn't use the whip again - it would take affect the round after it was used - the character could switch to a different weapon. I would say it should stack, but only one - multiple whips would not have a cumulative effect.
Jeff,

As we'd talked about earlier, maybe some Rare Wands that are permanents, with Rare or Uncommon charges that are consumable for using the Wand. You could even have, for each Wand, a Rare, Uncommon, and Common consumable charge token, with the higher the rarity the more powerful the effect (the Rare Charge counter would have a much larger effect than the common Charge Counter). That would keep the DM"s from having to mark off charges as they are spent, they now would just collect the charge counters.

Thanks,
Mike

Some ancient celtic items that could have powers or just GP value:

Torc (a type of neckring. Some were hollow while others had hard metal cores (iron) to protect the neck from a blow. They were covered in gold and decorated depending on the status of the wearer.)

Penannular Brooch (like a broken circle with a stick pin to keep robes, cloaks, etc. from falling off your shoulders)

Armlets (bronze or gold covered metal decorated with celtic symbols and figures)

Wow, a -6 to the monsters AC if all items were used. Mmm, a solid tactics as each drop in AC is the equivalent to another bless scroll in effect.

Well, Adam seemed to like this idea, so I might as well post it.

I don't know if it'd be rare or ultra rare...but I was thinking of like a Pearl of Power, usable by wizard only. Basically it would give you an extra spell slot, usable once per dungeon. Maybe add a little box on the party card for whether or not the wizard has used it.

Portable spell book - allows wizard to recall any spell already cast - may not be used in combat.

Anything Item - can transform into any common piece of equipment.

Dragon's Oil - 1 round to apply to melee weapon, does +2 points of fire damage for room.

Dragon's Breath - potion, drink and spit forth sheet of fire, 6 points of damage, usuable by anyone.

Vampire Oil - 1 round to apply to melee weapon, heals user equal to damage caused by first slide.

Dire Shield - +1 to A.C., monster must make D.C. 12 save to make first attack.

Staff-sling.

Vial of acid, requires slide to hit, causes acid damage.

Amulet of Might, boosts the damage or healing of all spells by +2, must be worn by caster.

Ring of Deflection: Will deflect all spells back at the caster, has three uses.

Ring of Blade Turning: Will completely block a physical attack, has three uses.

Monetary copper tokens (such as 1,000 copper pieces, equal to 10 gold pieces). How can you have a dungeon without copper coins?

Drow Hand Crossbow: a basic missile weapon.

Monkey Gloves: Allow wearer to use a weapon not normally usable by their class.

Ball of Lightning: Single use item usable by every class, requires a slide to hit, and causes target a set amount of electrical damage.

More mundane weapons, such as Halberd, Bec De Corbin, Bardiche, Cestus, Shuriken, Trident, Maul, Footman's Lance, Flail, Fauchard, Lucern Hammer, and Ranseur. My idea for weapons is to introduce a couple new ones every year, for a single, year, and then return them to the token pool after about 5 years.

Combo Token: Rod of Absorption. It would require amongst its ingredients 5 scroll bone tubes and the rod would absorb 3-5 spells or spell-like effects before shattering.

Ranger/Druid only tokens:
Bear Spirit Token: Once per room adds +2 to hit and damage

Lion Spirit Token: Add +2 to dexterity

Dragon Spirit Token: Add +1 to A.C.

Only one token may be used by a ranger or druid at a time, may not be changed during the course of the adventure
