TOPIC: Latest 2009 Token Images

Common tokens:<br /><br />One big thing I noticed that hasn't been addressed. Cudgel vs. Darkwood Shillelagh<br />Looking at them side by side in this sheet, one is obviously better than the other in ALL circumstances. Both common, both one-handed, both melee, both usable by all, but the Shillelagh has better damage. I know there are some armors in the same rarity that are just better, but for some reason this seems different to me. Anyone else have any feeling on this?<br /><br />Now on to the Nitpicks.  =D<br /><br />Essence of Mistletoe - second line of text is not centered like it is on the other two essences. (I know, I'm really scraping the bottom of the barrel here.)<br /><br />10 GP Flint Nodule - The value of this item is in the name and noted in parentheses on the token. I think one or the other would be sufficient.<br /><br />Masterwork Arrow - Needs a period after pt.<br /><br />Spiked Buckler - The text on this seems a little clunky. If you could possibly squeeze it in how about, '+1 AC & usable as off-hand weapon'?<br /><br />Tindertwig - Is this a single use item? Does it need to say it?<br />

<br /><br />Shouldn't the value of the Black Lotus be 250 GP?  It is the most valuable Magic card after all, and it wouldn't be creep since there was a 250 GP item last year   =D<br />

<br /><br />I agree! Last year there were 5 Rare GP tokens, 75GP, 100GP, 200GP, 200GP, 250GP<br />This year so far for the rares we only have 4, 75GP, 100GP, 200GP, 200GP. Why not bump up the Black Lotus and differentiate it a bit?<br />

The Faerie-Iron Armor has the 2008 designation on it instead of the 2009.

<br />Hi, wow... joining this party late... it was a long day at work. :-P<br /><br />First of all, *wow* I want to know where you get all your pictures from- the +1 Iron Long Spear looks absolutely WICKED. Joyus, don't be offended when I say "what a pixie-sticker!". :-D<br /><br />Looks like quite a few changes have already taken place. My only nitpick is the phrase "Any '20' " for the arrow of doom. The word "any" just seems out of place- it makes it sound like there are 20s all over the place and "any will do", to me. I don't know the grammatical lingo, but its just a feel thing for me. How about "Natural '20' " as that is what we all called a plain "20" roll on your d20 playing D&D? This is a minor issue, though.<br /><br />Overall they look really great and there has been a lot of great feedback already. Instead of getting rid of the +1 Faerie-Iron Shield, how about lowering the AC to +2/+3 vs. Fey and let the Bard and Cleric have a small upgrade from the Large Shield yet still less than the Dragonscale Shield.  Seems like a good niche fit.<br /><br />I liked the +1 Faerie-Iron Club, too bad it went away.  Does it make sense to keep the Uncommon version?  Seems like both should be there or none.<br /><br />I think the rare money should be distributed as 75, 100, 200, 250.  This covers all bases with no duplication.  The easiest way to accomplish this is to up the ring to 250GP.  (Though I also liked the black lotus idea as peviously mentioned by BrainScan)<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />

Shouldn't the +1 Arrow of Doom contain some text from the Uncommon +1 Arrow:<br /><br />+1 to hit & +1 to Damage-A "20" adds +5 impact damage.<br /><br />Also not sure why the Bard cannot use the long spears.<br /><br />Because at this time the Bard can use 2 uncommons (Club and Bow), 3 Rares (Kopis, Javelin, Bow) and 8 commons.  <br />And bards were one of the original classes to be able to use the Masterwork Spear.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br />

Little nitpick (that I'm hesitant to bring up, since I sort of caused the problem by whining about the original Color Spray):<br /><br />The diff between the common Scroll: Color Spray and the uncommon Scroll: Hypnotic Pattern is just that the uncommon affects *all* monsters, not just one.  Is that enough of a bump to justify Uncommon-ness, since there was really only one room last year with multiple opponents (discounting the strangeness in room 6).  If it's a signal that more multi-monster rooms are coming, I'm all for it, though!<br /><br />

<br /><br />Me too! I have always felt 8 -vs- 1 is a little unfair... making players chose a target makes the combat more interesting.

I'm waiting for party order, zones of control, and position during combat to matter. If those come in, combat will be more complex but no one will want to go back once they get used to it.

<br /><br />Black Lotus isn't the most valuable card ever printed, unless you are discounting misprints, test cards, etc. Although I do find the token slightly humorous...its the one piece I've never owned.
