I guess if you had two people buying $4K worth, if they pool their money they can split the Proof Set. Some Proof Rares/Uncommons/Commons are better than none. Of course, they would also have to split the complete PURP proof set, so they'd have to agree on who got which Purps.
Jeff,

Is it frowned upon if folks pool monies and hit the 8K amount?

I ask because I am interested in pooling...

I'd potentially be interested in pooling as well (though I typically only get $500 per year).

By going for the $8000 mark (vs. 8 x $1000): You get 4 extra Onyx UR's, an entire Onyx set of Commons, Uncommons, and Rares, plus the person who orders it probably gets an invite to the Dinner. (The only downside is that instead of 16 PYP Onyx UR's, you simply get a full set - one of each, which could be an issue for the popular UR's).

So many interesting possibilities....

- Incognito

At $8K, there would be 8 invites to the dinner if the threshold is $1K per invite as Jeff is currently thinking.

An extra 4 PURPs is really a great deal, even if you're getting one of everything. You can probably make up for it by getting all the popular multiples you want from the 16 Gold PURPs. If you split it 4 ways, that is still an extra PURP per person, plus 1/4 of the non-PURP proof set.

I imagine because you're getting 4 extra purps in exchange. That makes a lot of sense really. You're trading complete choice for additional quantity.

Like I said, I figured people would pool resources -- so have fun.

Getting 36 UR in the 8K deal is pretty good. I think most groups who do decide to pool their money to do this will be able to work it out.

Kim

Very Generous Jeff! And I'll bet anyone that has the financial means will choose NOT to pool resources, so that they can have the entire 140 token Proof set for themselves!

I would think if any professional dealers jump in this year, this would be the package they buy, it has the best chance for return on investment.

Mike
