TOPIC: want in on an $8k order?

Re: want in on an $8k order? 15 years 4 months ago #13
My problem is it is not random for GT/UR. There were several stories of uniquely wrapped token stacks that had UR/GT. With such a large pool to examine I don't see how hard it would to cherry pick those out. At that point it becomes a trust issue with the primary buyer to not keep them for themselves.

Lori MIGHT be able to package boxes in LOTS with tamper tape - so the person getting ALL the tokens would not open those boxes and pick out any potential GT looking package.

Yes, we can package them up into 8 separate boxes with tamper-evident tape.

cool, up to 8 separate boxes...i had already mentioned that i may have to leave the order sealed until true realm, so however it would work best (ie. if 8 1k lots, as people show up to TR, we could crack open the appropriate amount of lots to cover who is there...and leave the rest sealed for when others show).
i mentioned the modules and tickets as bonuses as they are not easily determinable who should get them, since not everyone would be getting 1k worth of tokens. and the rod of seven parts has just recently come to my attention, so yes, those would need to be added to the list.

we are still a ways off from 8k, so the offer still stands.

Given the Rods...I am going to try to squeak out the 1k I said I couldn't afford to spend this year.
So... you might pencil me in for that.
Of course, that being the case, I'd definately get a module and rod (would come standard with 1k anyway) and would appreciate some extra perk on top of it - or there's really not much of a reason for people to pool their monies together (save to help a friend end up with all the cool black tokens).

He lost those long ago. Less than 1% of men get through even a single year of marriage with those intact.

I was. Today I'm in the "new furnace or tokens?" stage.
Pay debt down or buy tokens?

We'll just have to wait and see. I'm not making any purchasing decisions until just before the "pre-order" stage ends.
I need to make headway on paying down debt.

Thanks to my wife and friends, I do see the error of my ways...
Truely, I can't afford more than the $250. I'll just have to try to work a deal for the module and Part 2 of the Rod.

I'm already behind on my debt repayment plan. If the sky doesn't fall, I still think I can pay down 13k of the 17k I was going to pay down in the next six months. I just can't spend foolishly in the meantime.

Don't worry John. We won't sell you ANY tokens until your wife sends us a note! And that goes for DF, too!

But once you are out of debt...I will be bugging you a lot!

Lol

Oh no! Who can I get to buy for me? ;)

I do have a $500 Amex (gift) card that my former employer gave to me as thanks for working on a a project throughout the past year. I was planning on using that to cover my True Realm expenses and buy at least $250 worth of tokens. I have my wife's approval for THAT much at least. :)

I do appreciate you looking out for my family though - truly. I've been eyeballing the DF stuff too. I'd love to snag that pre-order of 6 and get all the extra pieces that go with it. Look spretty spiffy. I'd love to have seen what one thread made it sound like existed - a "highly detailed" painting of the Ancients set. Sounds like you guys went through using lots of colors and decided on making the upper portion more of a neutral color so as to go with everyone's imagination and conform to many more "periods" that come to people's minds. If there are pictures of "very colorful" prototypes, could you PLEASE share those pictures with me?

Oh - to clarify - I'm passing on the DF stuff for now. While they are a 1500 procuded set, if the DoE is any indication, I should be able to snag some Ancient sets somewhere in the next three years before they all disappear.
