TOPIC: Any improvements for Adventurer's Guild in 2015?

Re: Any improvements for Adventurer's Guild in 2015? 9 years 8 months ago #13

Create an Adventure Pin that sells for $50 or whatever number is good. Holders go on a list for one event (Grind!). It works like the AG button did for WYC last year, but more accessible. AG members get one free with their 2K order.
D&D teaches all the important lessons in life - the low blow, the cheap shot, the back stab, the double cross. - Jerry Marsischky

Let them trap us. We have our swords. - Elric of Melnibone.

You try to get them to play the game, but all they want to do is play the rules. - Ardak Kumerian

I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend - Faramir

Would love this or even something equivalent for GenCon, I love TD, I just can't spend that much on tokens. I would buy an upgrade if it was available without spending half my yearly budget just on tokens.
We're all the kind of people who enjoy the game on a "meta" level. We like talking about the game year-round. We buy tokens. We enjoy crafting. We get together during the off-season if we can. We are a very skewed demographic that way. -Raven

What? Spending half your budget on tokens sounds about right to me. You spend your other half on TD tickets and you are all set.

AG badges were available for $50 each last year from vendors. Don't see a reason to assume any different this year.

I realize it is a very fine line, but I suspect that goes against the spirit of the WYC rules if not the letter of them. The AG badges as they are is a thank you from TD to the larger token buyers. This year, they decided that as part of that thank you, those buyers would be treated to some special events. Some of the buyers decided to share their benefits (some at a $ cost?) This is somewhat different than if TD decided to directly sell the badges.

Not to mention how many upset players would be at GenCon having paid $50 for a token that does NOT get them bag check when a reseller would have sold a badge for the same price that DID.

Well, Who's Yer Con is an outgrowth of all the "token transmutation parties" that have been held in the past.

There were some years when a transmutation session near Indianapolis was held at a gaming store.

Other times there have been transmutation sessions at Carbondale.

I think Who's Yer Con started as a convenient choice for transmutation but has evolved due to the opportunities to run events (and the development of the Adventurer's Guild).

Yep, I think I'm the one that said to Jeff, "Why go do a separate TEP in Indy when there's WYC?" Not long after Chis and Eric asked me who Jeff could contact at WYC to set something up.
You can't fix stupid but you can TPK it.

Fair enough. Then create an Adventure Badge that is a reward for a 1K order. Or whatever number seems reasonable.

*being the smartass here*
Being the reward for a 2k order seems reasonable ;)

Tho maybe it could be a WYC exclusive deal.

WYC Guild Membership
AG badge provided with any on site 1k order.
