Party Cards and Coaches 8 years 8 months ago #1

It's really surprising how many people don't bring a printed out sheet of their party cards.

Every run the coaches were VERY happy that we brought a printed party card. They did a random inspection of tokens, legendary, relic, and treasure enhancing was the focus. This part of the TD experience was seamless (for the most part).

I would suggest that if you can bring pre printed party cards. I think everyone here knows this already.

It is sad day when you encounter vets that don't. It happens though. :(

I tell the vets with tons of tokens and no pre-printed sheet that "you get to go last and I'll do my best with the time I have left."
Sweet a combat room, we won't take damage!

Remember that out of the 8000 tickets sold we represent a small minority.

I had my stats on the app, and I actually had very few coaches ask to see specific tokens. Charm of Avarice a couple times and Charm of Heroism a couple times is what I remember. Most of the runs were with forumers and on nightmare though, so the coaches probably assumed everyone was legitimately well-geared.

Also once in the dungeon, a DM asked to see my Lenses of Divine Sight.
Classes Played: Barbarian (65 times), Monk (56), Ranger (33), Rogue (25), Cleric (21), Fighter (13), Druid (12), Paladin (11), Dwarf Fighter (10), Bard (7), Elf Wizard (2), Wizard (2)

I knew all my couches but our run with unknowns they checked, which is fair since they check the folks we didn't know.

Over all was great experience.

I had a full card for one party and was able to reuse half of it (with modifications) for the other party. Next year, I'm hoping to get both parties in. But it was great. I wish I'd been pre-producing the party card for years. No hassle whatsoever.

I print a couple copies of my main group's builds that are used over the weekend. I also bring a copy of any special runs we will be doing (like a nightmare run that I know I need to change up equipment for). And then one I use for any pug runs I might be doing that has my BIS slots for each character (since normally they are spread over the entire group).

Best $3 I spent at GenCon :)

I could just punch in tokens, email myself, and show the coach.

I use the iPad app. I keep several builds for me, and for other people. And I can quickly modify things when I loan tokens out.

2 years back when sitting in the coaching room, we had a player come in to our group with just a 10 pack. We asked him if he would be ok going nightmare and he was game to run with us. We had one person open the app and in 2-3 minutes of calling out slots we outfitted him with the spare stuff we had and had those numbers ready for the coach. It was a great thing to see how quickly we could get someone geared up, and have the stats for the coach.

I have all my builds on my phone and if I'm late I just email it to someone there, and show the tokens they want to see once I arrive.
