I think you're right - I'm pretty sure Jeff warned us of that before we even decided to draw.

If a wish can't do it, no way a Censer of Sacrifice could.

I think the only thing that could was a diff deck of many things card. It was used for someone else( much worse curse)

I sort of figured that the Deck could only be affected by the Deck. Even so, having Tokens that should work but don't feels like I'm wasting my money on them.

A Deck of Many Things is very different in that it is powerful (artifact level) màgic. AND, Jeff pre-warned the drawer of the power of the magic. That said, I'm so excited for the GT this year. I hope there is another Deck of Many Things as the GT surprise at the end? Maybe Jeff will dress up as a swammy and have crystal ball?

That would be awesome. This thread made me research what was in (some edition of) the D&D deck of many things.

Overall I'm not sure I would draw in a D&D campaign - definitely not if I had any magic items I cared about:

I know some girl about 8 years ago sold me her Soul as part of losing a bet. I have the paperwork to prove it. She actually signed a Soul Contract giving me her immortal Soul. I actually carry around a laminated photocopy of it.

Interestingly enough, I once traded a co-worker at Games Workshop an unreleased Chaos Spawn model for his immortal soul. I still have the paperwork .. it is missing a corner however, I traded a piece of it to a co-worker for lunch one day.

There was a great article on how the Deck of Many Things works in Dragon Magazine 148. I remember reading it when it first came out.

The Deck is a true Neutral magic item. Exactly half the cards are beneficial while the other half are bad draws. The article stated that Leprechauns (mischievous and also Neutral in alignment) would distribute the Decks.
