Does the backing color of this token look black to anyone else?

Definitely poor lighting. The onyx tokens have more or a matte finish to them.

Poor lighting and/or dark gold. I have noticed that some gold-backed tokens are noticeably darker gold than others.

Yep, I've seen this as well. I have one that is extremely dark gold, almost brownish.

I will agree on the darkness/lousy lighting. There's little glints of gold around the dimples. Honestly, if I didn't know token coloration, I would say it's an army greenish color.

Too bad there isn't a magnification option for this listing. [ctrl + ] !!
