I was curious about this too.

I'd assume most people would largely be ok with different cons offering XP provided there was a yearly cap you could hit without having to go to multiple cons. ie if they gave out the same xp cards at gencon as WYC/GH so it doesn't matter where you get your 4k

That would make a lot of sense from a XP perspective for those of us that care. I'm sure I'm not the only one that basically does one big con a year (that involves traveling/hotels). I would fear splitting the player/volunteer base but this is something that needs to be observed and tweaked if need be after empirical data has been recorded.
We're all the kind of people who enjoy the game on a "meta" level. We like talking about the game year-round. We buy tokens. We enjoy crafting. We get together during the off-season if we can. We are a very skewed demographic that way. -Raven

I think though at some point (not saying this year or next) but a some point a cap doesn't make sense (for different dungeons). I don't know that TD will ever get to the point that it will be able to produce multiple different dungeons at multiple different venues, but if does then I think a cap is just down right silly. If people want to travel to all the different events to support TD then giving them XP is alright by me.

In fact if that helped motivate more folks to play in that scenario the I actually thing that is a great thing. Just my two cents.

It would allow our group to volunteer more easily at GenCon if the XPs were provided at other places. Of course, maybe if the other places don't have XPs, maybe we can volunteer at those.

I would not be averse to a yearly cap, with the ceiling, for example, being the max that could be earned at GC. That way people could earn XP at events like WYC and GHC, while those of us who can only go to GC would not be penalized by the inability to attend the other cons.

I guess that there's a risk that if people could earn the yearly cap of XP outside of GENCON, that might make a dent in GENCON sales? Of course, that's not too much of a problem currently since it is a complete sell out again.

I like the option of XP outside of GENCON as long as someone is below a certain XP point (maybe below third level). Maybe even allowing it to be cumulative with GENCON XP, as long again as the person is less than third level. After they hit third level, I figure we've got them hooked. :)

Just to be clear if TD was running multiple different events at multiple different cons then I would be in favor of them all having different XP. If TD were to run the same events (or close enough to call them redux) at different events then I would say the xp shouldn't stack (or should be capped),

I'm not in the XP race but I do think that XP outside of GenCon is a big plus for the future of the game. I agree it should be capped annually so that people who can't attend three events per year don't fall behind.

I seriously doubt it would negatively impact GenCon ticket sales as there are plenty of people who can't get runs and would like to, or would like more runs at GenCon.

I do feel that if there is every another event like True Realm, it should have unique XP, completion buttons, participation tokens, etc. I think one of the reasons True Realm wasn't as successful as it could have been was because it didn't offer anything really unique from what someone could get from GENCON.

I would agree the same event should not stack similar to how events don't stack at Gen Con doing the same event even if it is Puzzle and Combat. I was just saying I don't think we should have an overall cap. The cap should be per different run.
