True Dungeon for Kids

I would love to get my kids into True Dungeon, they already collect and trade the coins with me, we make little mini games and use the coins for our stats. But being just 5 and 7 my kids are a long ways off before they can actually play. Anyways, It would be kinda cool to have a very paired down kids version of True Dungeon, maybe 2 or 3 rooms. The character cards could be much more simplified with only a few slots so stats are not nearly as important, maybe give the kids a pre-configured set of kids tokens, one for each slot, and a weapon then let the treasure pulls get them some Rare kids gear for next time.

Something like this would let kids see what their parents are playing and get future generations interested in True D early on. I've seen a few younger kids run full runs and I could tell they were having an absolute blast, I think this would really go over well if it was planned out well enough.

Sounds like a good idea. Finding new ways to play with our tokens would be great.

But, it sounds like a big investment of time to get it online, as well as run it. It's more likely to get designed and implemented if you and others with kids that age could form a committee, and volunteer to work out a lot of the details and place a better-than-draft proposal in front of Jeff.

Here's a thought. Grind hasn't been using the space full-time. Maybe a partition could go up to split it into two rooms in off-hours, and you could use the space for a kiddie-dungeon when we're not using it. You'd have to work it all out with Eric, too.

The two room demo at WYC would be a great intro.
D&D teaches all the important lessons in life - the low blow, the cheap shot, the back stab, the double cross. - Jerry Marsischky

Let them trap us. We have our swords. - Elric of Melnibone.

You try to get them to play the game, but all they want to do is play the rules. - Ardak Kumerian

I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend - Faramir

Correction: On the page for upcoming events, Jeff lists a 2 room demo for Who's Yer Con, and Gamehole Con.

This may fit your needs.

Otherwise have you tried the TD game app for iPad? You can play together and work the puzzles.
