Keep in mind, a lot of entertainment is included with True Dungeon and it remains free. The story-scape and trading area is provided at the convention free of charge. All the events during the year like token release and the forums are all provided free of charge. TD is also amazing about allowing access to token images and game material for 3rd party stuff like the character spreadsheet by David, the character generator apps and the iPad app all royalty free. There is a lot more entertainment provided than just the 2 hour experience, although it remains the prime event.

I'd play if it were $100... just perhaps not as many times.
Classes Played: Barbarian (65 times), Monk (56), Ranger (33), Rogue (25), Cleric (21), Fighter (13), Druid (12), Paladin (11), Dwarf Fighter (10), Bard (7), Elf Wizard (2), Wizard (2)

WHAT!!! Don't say that. We don't want Jeff to know that no matter how true it is.

It could be argued that some of that is marketing for TD and token sales. We know token sales supplement dungeon costs as it has been said numerous times.

Again I am not complaining as much about the cost as what seemed to me be a lack of communication. I think it would have stung a little less coming from Jeff vs finding it when looking at events.

Increased cost is unlikely to drive away most of TD fans. New people though will be harder and harder to obtain as the price goes up as they don't know how much entertainment it is.

Uhh... I meant to say... if it were $100 I would immediately incinerate all my tokens and NEVER do TD again because that would be OUTRAGEOUS!

2012 - $38
2013 - $44
2014 - $48
2015 - $52
2016 - $56

And they keep selling out. So this is not too surprising.

You sure about those numbers I thought we skipped an increase one year, but maybe it was further back.

I grabbed the prices from gencon.highprogrammer.com/ . They have spreadsheets for earlier years too but I didn't check those.

Next year expect $60-62? Still not terrible. I only do 1-2 runs a year.

Between the aforementioned gencon.highprogrammer.com (thanks Jeff321), the TD Timeline (Thanks Mike Steele), and Guildmaster Nightshade (thanks Raven!), I was able to fill in the gaps. This is how prices have changed over the years:

My (moderately faulty) memory says 2004 was $12.
