TOPIC: Gen Con and Walk-Ons/Fillers

Gen Con and Walk-Ons/Fillers 7 years 11 months ago #1

Hello everyone,

I have a question on how Walk-On or Filler spots work. I know that if someone doesn't show to a group, others that are waiting could get in. Do you still have to pay for such a run? If so, do you really need $56 in generic tickets to get in? That is a lot of tickets to buy on the chance you'll get in.

If you do need to pay, is there something in place to make sure that groups are filled out? I would hate to pay for my time then only have a group of 7 to try to finish the run with.

Thanks,
~Alex

I'm not certain because things are a little different this year, so don't bet the farm on this, but TD may (and I cannot emphasize this enough, MAY) be able to accept your payment on site--maybe. Hopefully an admin will see this and confirm or deny.

The wait list staff is good about filling in vacancies, but there are no guarantees. That said, on those rare occasions when a group unintentionally goes in with >10 players, coaches will note this on your party card so the DMs can make adjustments in the adventure.
Have you looked it up in the TDb ?
Please post TDb corrections in this thread .

Listen to Druegar Master of tokens past and cookies present. As a coaching volunteer i've seen short parties, it happens, rarely. We have plans and DMs will work when it happens.

If your unasked question is is it still possible to get tickets i would browse through the various threads to various runs. Groups will be here looking to fill bodies for runs. I know i've got 2 full runs booked and people planned, now. It's almost inevitable that i'll have to find a body somewhere if plans change between now and con. Lot of us will post openings here vs sending back to the system for refunds. Browse through, use the search function, ask questions if you don't understand. We don't bite, much...
We're all the kind of people who enjoy the game on a "meta" level. We like talking about the game year-round. We buy tokens. We enjoy crafting. We get together during the off-season if we can. We are a very skewed demographic that way. -Raven

Alex,

Will this be your first True Dungeon experience or are you just considering trying the wait list for the first time?
My online token shop: www.tdtavern.com

We buy, sell, and trade True Dungeon tokens. We also have a convenient consignment program where you can sell your own tokens.

Hi Kirk,
Bit of both. I've nabbed some runs already, but since I missed most of the other events on my wishlist, my schedule is looking sparse. Thus I am looking for possibilities to fill time, and TD seems like it'd be a good one (If a bit expensive ;) )
