What is this crack down on the wait list? What sort of changes have there been?

Yes? From my perspective and I saw it 4 times the wait list did not work.

As above.
In years at least since 2010 that I can recall, you could give the wait list person any slot time you had open spots for, and people looking for runs could ask what times have openings, and you would get matched up. This was a totally awesome service provided by TD volunteers.

This year, GenCon didn't allow that. You could only put openings on the wait list 15 minutes before your start time.
People wanting a run could be put on the list and wait until a spot opened up (i.e. - not ask if there was anything available for certain times).
Winner of a Ring of Focus (that is now a Relsa's Ring of Focus) at Raven's awesome pickpocketing event at TD Tavern in 2008.

I was telling people hoping to play to try the wait list. I didn't realize the process had changed to be less helpful.

This seems.... counterproductive

Doesn't make sense to me. Only two reasons Gen Con would do this it seems. They might make money on tickets being returned and resold??? Someone complained, but I haven't a clue about what. Maybe there are some other possiblities like Lucas Oil have some weird policy about not doing something like....no wait I got nothing.

TD only makes money on tickets/generics collected.

If someone buys a ticket for TD and misses the run it CAN NOT be refunded after the event.
Gencon gets the money for their ticket.
True Dungeon does not.

Sorry are you telling me this or just saying it in general, because I understand this. It seems though that the policy of the waitlist was Gen Con's not True Dungeon's. So I am not certain what you are trying to say.

The new waitlist design hurts TD and players but benefits GC. It's less likely that spots will be filled with the new design so less likely for TD to have tickets to submit but GC still gets the money for un-returned items

Agreed it is for Gen Con's financial benefit, which I said. Sorry I thought you were arguing somehow otherwise, we are so rarely in agreement. :D
