TOPIC: One Newbie Looking for a group?

One Newbie Looking for a group? 6 years 11 months ago #1

I've never done any True Dungeon and I'm hoping I can find a group with an extra ticket I can buy that wouldn't mind having a total newbie along for the ride.

I've played plenty of D&D so I won't be totally confused, but never TD. I'd prefer a puzzle oriented run but I'm willing to do combat.

I'm willing to adjust my event schedule somewhat to try to fit this in. Pat Rothfuss is my favorite author and I'd really like to be able to experience TD in his world.

If there is somewhere else I should go to look for a group please let me know.

Thank you JACKOFTRADZE for the invite, but since you guys are playing at a higher level I definitely can't keep up. I can't afford any additional tokens or anything. But thank you for the invite.

Brad, also thank you but that is one of the few timeslots I can't do. I only have parking until midnight so I can't do anything that late into the night.

There is a free seminar called TD101 that may still have tickets left, I would go to that to find out more about True Dungeon. Some of us run the class and we can give you more insight into how it's run and some good tips to help make your dungeon delving more enjoyable :)
You don't have to outrun the monster, just the guy next to you - The buddy system.

No worries we will being playing Hardcore (most likely on both runs) and we can help gear you out should you decide to join up. Some of the others are only Rare Token players, and not Ultra+.
We would have your back and make should you are well armed.

I thought I had found someone with a ticket but he hasn't been on the forums for a month so I'm beginning to think I might not have a solution after all. Thank you to everyone who offered. If you know anyone with tickets for times before 10pm any day, that would be greatly appreciated.

There is a Thursday 4:03 pm spot available in GenCon event registration at the moment
D&D teaches all the important lessons in life - the low blow, the cheap shot, the back stab, the double cross. - Jerry Marsischky

Let them trap us. We have our swords. - Elric of Melnibone.

You try to get them to play the game, but all they want to do is play the rules. - Ardak Kumerian

I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend - Faramir

Thank you for the welcome!

Thanks for pointing it out. I wasn't fast enough. I was hoping to find a group who would be willing to play with a newbie, but I'll keep an eye out for tickets.

Thanks again. Everyone has been so nice and welcoming.

There is a linked group index, look for the group listed as LFM (looking for more). Those groups already have the tickets for the run, and are looking for people to fill their spots.

Each of them will have individual threads started, and if you ask them, I'm sure they would let you know if they are good with a new player or not (will depend on what difficulty level they want to run, etc..)
