As many people noted above, I'll gladly trade a $1 mystic silk for 4x Belts of the Brave or 8x Boots of the Bold. If someone is just going to turn them into the lowest priced trade goods anyway, I'd rather just give them the good and leave some really sweet tokens in coaching.

Honestly, I'd easily trade far more than what they'd get in trade goods. We've got a pile of things we're not even transmuting to MS because we'd rather just give them to new players.

Interesting thread and feelings the same for both the Uncommon and Rare Completion tokens?

Oh, definitely. Not recommending a lowball here. Just saying that if someone really was hard up for the TGs, lots of us have piles of Silk and Plank to do the "transmute" in lieu of TDA :)

I would say (based on the requests for trades I have gotten), that there are fewer of the uncommons that are desirable, but likely still more valuable than trade goods.

Probably half are decent? For example, to a new player, bead of the bear is better than no bead or bead of shock, Charm of fair health is better than no charm, etc.

Some of the UCs, yes. Boots of the Bold, Charm of the Earth, Jasper Prism, and Earcuff of Encouragement are all solid at Normal and partially into HC. Bead of the Bear isn't terrible with the slot expansion.

The others are a bit more meh.

Edit: for reference on the comparable tokens in standard packs/previous years:
Earcuff of Encouragement" strictly better than the old UC +1 saves ear slot item
Boots of the Bold: straight replacement for Shocking Step, as To Hit can be a barrier to HC advancement
Charm of the Earth: All benefit, no drawback unlike Wicked Charm, Fiendish Charm, etc.
Jasper Prism: Only Jasper Ellipsoid provides damage boosts in this slot unless you go into UR or volunteer tokens
Bead of the Bear: Now that everyone has 3 slots, more or less a free saves. Only really competes with other save beads unless you really want elemental DR.

put the extras in a sock. Then when someone says something stupid, you can beat them with it

These are all good suggestions, I'll do one of them instead of mulching mine :) I have way too many of a few of them and have been trying to figure out what I should do.

I really appreciate the discussion. I am in agreement that they are WAY more valuable to a lot more people than trade goods. I also like to give good tokens to new player to help them out early in their collecting phase (like people did with me).

I don't remember if I've seen any transmute recipes for next year's set and if the ones from V6 and beyond should be kept in volume.

I put my list of completion tokens I don't use/need together (it dates back to 2012!). I'll post it in the other section. I appreciate the interest and hope they will find a good home- either for a forumite or in a new player's hand- i mean seriously, I don't need 21 IS Jasper Ellipsoids. :)

Honestly I tend to just keep everything until the next story arc starts to avoid surprises.
