I'd like to put together a really silly GenCon run. My idea is for everyone to dress in costume and act as ridiculous versions of the characters they play.

For example, I'm thinking of playing a cleric and dressing as a Televangelist or dress as Ranger Smith from Yogi Bear (playing Ranger, of course.) An elf wizard might dress up in a christmas elf costume. A paladin might be Dirk the Daring (from the video game). Rogue might be dressed up as a pilot from rogue two squadron. I could see a David Attenboro druid. Someone dressing as Tony Shalhoub's Monk would be amazing. Bard could be pretty much any musician or, alternatively, dress as Shakespeare.

Who would be interested?

This sounds SO fun!! I have no concept of my volunteer schedule yet, so I can't commit to anything, but I would be very interested if the timing lined up correctly.

Sounds fun, but not 98/108 fun for me. Love to know how it goes.

any character from the d&d cartoon series.

wizards could be sigfried and roy, or penn and teller.

cleric could be the pope.

rogue could be han solo.

bard... i'm seeing busta rhymes. he is just too fast.

druid could be johnny appleseed.

fighters, maybe wwe wrestlers?

This sounds deeply silly and potentially a lot of fun. I’m interested if the time slot works out. Not sure what I’d do for a barbarian though. (Conan/Red Sonja seem too literal and, uh, too revealing.) Open to ideas! Or to a cleverer barbarian taking the spot.

You could go the Attila the Hun or Genghis Khan route of barbarian....or going silly with the "Barbie" movie coming out - go as a "BARBIE"-rian - put on a blond wig, way too much make up and call all the men in the group "Ken" the whole adventure

The Barbie-rian is the best idea I've heard so far!

This first image is a WEBP and I don't think it will display properly here on the forums, so here's a link to it .

This could also be fun:

(Yes, I know it's Hippolyta--it's the best I could find)

Or simply wear this:

Have you looked it up in the TDb?
