Jeff thought it would be fun to re-tool the look of the 2025 character cards to match the coming Viking theme.

Jeff also thought it might be fun to give each class a slight Viking-flavored Saga Skill to make the year just a wee bit more vikerific. Each Saga Skill is found at the top of the card, flanked by helmets that are definitely not accurate to real-world Vikings, but our version of Vikings find them quite stylish.

Please check these for any errors. It is much appreciated!

Power Note: Saga Powers are designed with newbies in mind. If you have a lot of purple, dark blue, or orange in your build, you're probably not going to be blown away by them because you already have a lot of cool effects.

Would it be possible to ask for what an "error" is? Are you looking for wording consistency across cards, would you just like typos and sanity checks to ensure no unintended number changes between cards, or something different?

Monk's Combat Prowess appears to still have the error in which does not state what the AC bonus is. Only that it is "Significant"

I feel that every ability is good for newbies except for those related to equipping an axe or two. This would be problematic for seal pack runs and also for those without some level of effort to secure the required number of axes.

If TD would also newbies to trade in other weapons to get axes then that would make it more usable by newbies.

Because these need to go to the printer ASAP, we simply don't have time for debates about more significant changes beyond the Saga Skills. That said, if we f'd something else up (e.g., accidentally deleting barbarian DR or saving throw bonuses that don't match the previous numbers), please let us know.

The wording for Valhalla’s Glory could be interpreted to carry over between rooms in some fringe circumstances.

Example, Wizard dies in room 6 puzzle and is not resurrected, and then attempts to cast in Round 1 of Room 7 combat.

They look great. The bonuses will add some fun moments for new players and sealed pack runs, and some of the rules on the card are more clear now.

It would be nice if the saga powers were all conditional or all always on. Note, if they are always on, there really isn’t a need to make them saga powers.

Ex: the Barbarian power could just be removed as written and upgrade rage. A conditional version could be “+5 damage to rage if using a 2H weapon”

Balder's Blessing on the Bard feels like something that probably won't come up very often, unless the plan would be to add more fear to the dungeons this year. From that perspective a small tweak might make sense. For example, maybe something like +1 to Will saves with Bard Song.

I guess that's hypothetically possible... But assuming the room 7 DM allowed it (which seems dubious), it feels like the wizard would be sacrificing a lot to do that. The dead wizard could not be resurrected in room 7 (rezzes must occur in the same room the character died) and they would not get full XP because they didn't enter room 7 alive. All that just to cast one Spell while they're dead? What's the motivation? 🤷‍♂️

Yes. Sub-classes won't have Saga Skills.

I was looking at it through the lens of the Saga powers being intended for newbies, who have limited ability to resurrect and have taken 6 rooms of damage, and may not know things like must be resurrected in the same room is a rule, or even what they can or cannot do once they have died.
