I posted on Facebook about going to GHC to play TD. Jeff comments, "Each adventure will have a new room not seen at Gen Con!" Figured folks would want to know.

I am surprised there were no comments on this. A different room from Gen Con seems like the kind of thing that would either get people excited to go to GHC or bummed that they will not get to see it. Though if I had to bet I would bet it might be at Origins next year but it is also possible we could have a different room for each adventure there too, but I think that is asking a lot.

I'm excited. But then i was going to attend either way. This is just a really nice bonus. Now, if you really want to start a discussion, suggest that since its a new room that some minimal player xp should be awarded to go with it. I know that won't happen, but.....

It appears to me that all the runs are described as Combat runs. That doesn't disappoint me, I prefer combat.
D&D teaches all the important lessons in life - the low blow, the cheap shot, the back stab, the double cross. - Jerry Marsischky

Let them trap us. We have our swords. - Elric of Melnibone.

You try to get them to play the game, but all they want to do is play the rules. - Ardak Kumerian

I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend - Faramir

I noticed that too, wasn't certain if that was the case or that it was just that it was a copy and paste from a combat GC run. I know most of the token craze folks perfer combat runs. However to grow the player base I would think puzzle runs would be a better choice. Though combat I think is better for having replay value over puzzles in general. There are definitely a few puzzles that know how to solve is not the issue, it is just doing the solving. The huge tilt labyrinth tilting maze runner puzzle comes to mind.

I'm going to go play with matches and gasoline.

Seems safer than rehashing this. :P

I started to write a reply yesterday, but then decided it might be best to think more about it first.

I was just wondering what the motivation is behind having a new room.
Just to have something new at GHC to bring more veterans in?
Did Jeff have a great ideas for 2 more room, but couldn't fit it into the Gen Con runs?
Maybe they were very time-consuming rooms to create and he couldn't get it done in time for Gen Con?
Maybe he combined puzzle and combat rooms and they didn't flow together correctly with only the current rooms?
Maybe he wants to take fewer trucks to GHC and the Gen Con rooms together would take up too much space?
I heard something about having a very large # of NPC's this year. Maybe they are afraid they won't get enough at GHC so they created new rooms which don't require as many NPC's?
Maybe the new room on each run is actually the same room where we fight the group on the other run???

Who knows (besides Jeff & Co.)?
