That's exactly my guess. He's giving people that have already done the runs a little something new to experience, and another reason to go.

Maybe he wants to take fewer trucks to GHC and the Gen Con rooms together would take up too much space?
I heard something about having a very large # of NPC's this year. Maybe they are afraid they won't get enough at GHC so they created new rooms which don't require as many NPC's?

My bet is that one of these three is the real reason.

Fiddy, I do remember you from TDC. That was very discreet cut and pasting. And I bet you are correct. Logistics.

Did someone say logistics...

So you are saying Jeff wants to reduce his carbon footprint at GHC... another possibility...

Jeff, your presence is required at Origins! 321

If I do it will be for less days. Guess I need to decide before hotels open which is surprisingly soon.

The smaller cons were a neat way to let people get that year's XP if they couldn't get to Gen Con. Offering XP for those cons would be akin to punishing people for not attending all of the cons outside of Gen Con. How about we offer some XP for those, but add more to Gen Con so we can reward the people who make it there? :P

How about we keep it the way it is. You do a dungeon anywhere you xp for at the furthest room/highest difficulty you do. The reward for the new rooms is new rooms. The rweard dor gen con is two sets of dungeons and seeing them before the other cons.
You either discover a star or you don't. You arrogant punk.

I agree, the current system is the best. You have a year-long season starting with GENCON, and you get the credit for the top XP you do for each of the two Dungeons through the year. That's not anything new either, that's how it was done in 2009 with True Realm and GENCON, and also how it was done with GENCON Indy and GENCON SOCAL.

I don't think that is right - look at the xp for top leaderboard players - they have:

A. Exp for multiple difficulties of the same dungeon (not sure if it used to work that way?)

B. Xp for gen con 2008 / 9 / true realm all stacking up (not sure which of there was redundant)

You yourself have true realm xp, and also gencon xp for gen con that year, for a total of 4 dungeons in 2009 - what are you trying to say about not getting credit for more than 2 dungeons a year?

Point taken, I may be mistaken about how XP was handled back then. Although I am pretty sure that is how it was handled between GENCON INDY and SOCAL, and I still think it's the best model to use now.

Definitely the most sensible way to handle XP now, IMHO.
