We were talking about this a lot today.
I thought Moongate was my best experience so far with TD.
After last year's GenCon, I figured they had really raised the bar on what could be done.

But Astral was amazing!
Sets (especially lighting - both n halls and in room), puzzles, costumes were top notch.
The NPCs are routinely great and well costumed, but the sets and quality of the puzzle builds were noticeably better.

I am excited for N2 and N3.

And much thanks to the True Adventures crew that kept it up and running. Some pieces had some troubles, but they managed to keep things rolling.

Yeah the sets in N1 are amazing. Every room. Lots of NPCs too and the costumes were great. And the puzzles are some of the best I've seen in TD. Certainly looking forward to Gen Con.

Oh, man. Cool!

Yeah, I know the costume you wore isn't the most comfortable, having worn it before as a volunteer at Gen Con. It was also cool to find out there was progression with that monster's story. Again, trying to avoid spoilers or I would say more. :)

Totally agree that N1 was really great! I loved the 2nd Combat a lot with the alternate dynamics. Puzzles were a lot of fun especially the last one that required a group effort. I also like the improvement tweaks made to it later in the show. I ran it four times and enjoyed it every time.

Looking forward to GC to see the further improvements!

If N1 is the future, I'll gladly "climb aboard!" ;) I won't reiterate what others have said, but I am in agreement with all the positive comments.

The overall "plan" and "path" is something that hasn't been mentioned and while subtle, was key to making this experience so great. I have one idea for an improvement to this...but that would be getting spoilery.

It's awesome to hear the good feedback. I was the DM for Astral 6, the next to last room. We had only one TPK in that room and that party got to help us prank the DM in the final room as a consolation prize. Everybody was laughing.

My group loved every room, especially the last two puzzles.

Beautiful, innovative, themed, and well-balanced.

A+

Thanks for volunteering and thanks for doing a great job.

As for Astral, it’s great and exceeded my expectations by miles. I liked puzzles a lot.

I took some long time friend on a Astral sealed as there first dungeon and they had a great time as well.

The only issue I see is TD raised the bar for them self very high this time. I don’t know how they top it.

Origins was the tenth time I've been a TD DM . I was amazed the first time (I actually came in as a last minute substitute DM for somebody that had canceled in '05 and had no real idea what I'd signed up for), and Jeff & Co keep upping the game, literally. I've been unable to volunteer for the past few years and was not surprised when I showed up and discovered it was even better than I remembered.

Wednesday night when the N1 Area Coordinator (Steve is awesome) took us (N1 DMs and NPCs) through after setup for the preshow overview/briefing I was particularly impressed with the room 5 and 7 puzzles. Most players I talked to after they'd played seemed to like those ones especially and I completely understand and agree.
