The only issue I see is TD raised the bar for them self very high this time. I don’t know how they top it.

Origins was the tenth time I've been a TD DM . I was amazed the first time (I actually came in as a last minute substitute DM for somebody that had canceled in '05 and had no real idea what I'd signed up for), and Jeff & Co keep upping the game, literally. I've been unable to volunteer for the past few years and was not surprised when I showed up and discovered it was even better than I remembered.

Wednesday night when the N1 Area Coordinator (Steve is awesome) took us (N1 DMs and NPCs) through after setup for the preshow overview/briefing I was particularly impressed with...

Did you miss the part in the title that said "No spoilers"?

Please, avoid posting spoilers/anything that could even be hinted at what's in the rooms for N1. Please edit posts accordingly out of respect for not only my request but also for those who have yet to play N1. Thank you!

Thanks for all the good feedback. I am really glad (and relieved) that most folks liked it a lot. I really stuck my neck out there -- and I am thrilled our efforts were worthy.

I hope N2 and N3 keep you happy, too! It should be a fun time at Gen Con!

Seeing all the glowing reviews, it makes me sad I couldn't get to Origins... but also really excited to see the N modules at GenCon!!

I'm glad you're following your vision, Jeff, and I'm excited that I'll get to be a part of it in ~6 more weeks!!

N1 was amazing! I was on the second group through and I think you were with us about half the time, which was a fun bonus. You looked like a nervous dad watching their kid ride a bike for the first time.

It was disappointing that in the last room Thanos kills Scooby Doo......."I don't feel so good Shaggy!"

Can not wait to see more at Gencon.

That's interesting. I was in the first group and we managed to kill Thanos while Shaggy pulled Scooby to safety.

We did break one of the puzzles. Or perhaps we just watched it malfunction spectacularly.

Jeff was with us about half the dungeon.

And if the monsters were harder later on in Nightmare, you can blame that on us as well.

Woohoo! I'm with Jeff on the "really glad and relieved" train. We pulled out some new stops on N1, and I'm stoked that it seems to have worked well. We'll be tweaking (and hardening) those puzzles in the coming weeks. ;)

I'd love to hear any ideas you might have. I can't promise they'll all mesh with all the other suggestions and goals we're working with, but drop me a line at mike[at]truedungeon.com and we'll chat. :)

And, isn't sanity really just a one-trick pony anyway? I mean all you get is one trick, rational thinking, but when you're good and crazy, oooh, oooh, oooh, the sky is the limit.

I was on the first run on Thursday.... loved everything. I believe they upped the nightmare damage twice or maybe three times after seeing what could be done by a party.

We ran nightmare as well and were the 2nd run. I heard one of the DMs told if another Nightmare group comes through that he needed to up the HPs.

I was in the first group. We killed two of the monsters in one round. Another in the second. And though a combination of full set of Charms of Awakened Synergy and some clever tactics, none of them even swung at us.

So yes, we told every DM and the AC that something needed to be done.

I want to say something very spoilerish...... but all I can say is i agree with the fix to what we did in one of the combats.

Not a spoiler, I hope, but one of the puzzle rooms could have used 2 DMs. We ran on Saturday evening. Perhaps there were 2 DMs at some point in the week, but on our run, we had one.

It made that particular puzzle very challenging because of time (it was challenging anyway, and I really loved the design of the puzzle, the room and how it integrates the theme of the story).

If possible, having 2 DMs in that room would seem a huge asset.

I hope this is very cryptic for folks who haven’t run N1 yet - that’s the point of trying to avoid spoilers.
