Just to save somebody else the hassle of figuring things out, here is how you transfer tickets.
1) Log in to your GenCon account and go to Friends & Family. Here you can invite friends with the same email address they have registered with GenCon.
2) Your friend must accept your invite.
3) Go to your event that you bought multiple tickets for (e.g.
www.gencon.com/events/137201
) and if you have one or more "Another ticket for me" items, you can click "Transfer Ticket" at the bottom of the page. On the next page you select which friend to transfer the ticket to.
4) When you return to the event page, it will show a check mark next to the friend that you transferred the ticket to and you'll have one fewer "Another ticket for me" items.
Note: you can transfer to the same person multiple times and it is a bit non-intuitive. There is no way to tell how many tickets you have transferred. It will show a check box next to the friend's name if you have transferred one or more tickets. In my case, I originally bought all 10 tickets, so I should see a total of 10 boxes checked on the event page. If I transfer two to the same person I'll only see 9 boxes checked.
I initially did this by accident (when I went back to the page it didn't immediately show a check mark next to the person I just transferred a ticket to, so I assumed I messed up and did it again). But it can be used to purposely transfer ghost tickets as well (e.g. in a 5-man run, after transferring 2 tickets each to 4 different friends, you'd have 6 checkboxes marked, one for you, Another ticket for me, and four friends checked).
If you aren't sure if a transfer went through, be sure to count the total checkmarks to make sure everything adds up before transferring again. I also found out that the person can transfer a ticket right back to you if you mess up.
