Just bought a couple of these for a friend and myself!

This will be our first time ever doing TD. Hopefully that's ok. It didn't occur to me before buying that you might be looking for a group for specific difficulty level.

Neither of us is sure what class we want to play yet, but we're talking about it. Hopefully more people in our group will find this thread before the day arrives, and we'll have an idea.

I'd like to purchase some tokens beforehand, since I'm not sure I'll get another chance to play TD after this time.

The idea of a bard appeals to me. I like the class setup. That said, I'm open to just about any of the caster/memorization classes, especially if I can "gear up" ahead of time.

Hello! I'm the friend! I enjoy playing tanks and melee fighters. I'm still reading through the rules, but I'm leaning towards Paladin right now.

Players of any level are certainly welcome - the benefit of organizing ourselves here is that we have a decent idea who's playing what class, and can figure out the level. If this is your first, run, I suggest nightmare....

...yes, you must not take this too seriously! Let me put you down for one caster, one tank, and hopefully we snag the attention of the others.

Word of advice? Don't sweat buying a ton of tokens - you get the ten-pack at the start. Also, you're not certain which class you're going to settle on yet! Please feel free to grab some ten packs out of the store above if you want; Take a look at the Player's Handbook under 'How to Play' above as well.

Is it possible to buy additional 10-packs of tokens at Origins, before our run?

Just something I've been thinking about.

I bought a few tokens that looked like fun off of tdtavern.com , most of which seem like they'll work decently for Bard or Wizard, but I enjoyed pulling the loot so much, I might buy a random 10 pack before our run, just for fun. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Any word from the rest of our run? Is it possible they don't use the forums at all?

You can buy packs at the con from TD (2018 and 2019 packs). There will be some vendors, and some players will even offer to loan you tokens if your interested.

Yes - vendors in dealer hall, and traders in front of TD can set you up. You can certainly buy ten packs for the fun of discovery before our run. Try to get there early, grab a table outside the front and start cracking them open. That's also a great place for us to meet up, and I can answer any questions you have about your new hoard.

Yes, it seems a lot of Originites try TD without knowing about TD.com or the forums. That's why having a little extra time beforehand is so important!
