What If we remove the direct correlation to the MEC in the transmute/bonus stage of the relic/legendary.

And have the ability to use either MoMM/MEC/Something with Relic and can’t stack and then add some of these additional arcane powers. It would give both camps a path to the legendary that fits with their view of how they want to play the wizarding class. EDIT: And for the transmute the ingredient could be EITHER MEC or MoMM but you’d still be able to choose which power you want for relic/legendary for the run. Can’t change mid-game.

We’d still modify so that MEC is a 1/round HP > damage conversion to address the runaway/scaling issue.

All this squimishness over spending HP... it strikes me as well-meaning but so silly. It’s based on a complete misunderstanding of what HP are.

From the D&D Wiki:
“Hit points, commonly abbreviated HP, are a number measuring the amount of damage a creature, character, or object can take before being killed, disabled or destroyed.

“They can be considered an abstract representation of life-force, health, endurance, luck and the sort of favoritism that follows main protagonists and antagonists in fictional stories.“ (Emphasis mine)

Paying HP isn’t about ”self harm,” it’s about exhausting yourself. It makes perfect sense in game terms and countless fantasy books and movies, and there is nothing ghoulish or gory about it.

If you want to make a different token that sacs some other resource that’s cool. Just leave MEC alone. That’s my advice.

Brad, thanks for the great D&D quote, that's very relevant.

it is all this whining and bickering as to why i don't read most threads anymore

all the arguing..fighting its BS. This is a game. it is supposed to be fun. A few people are not making it fun anymore...if you think I am talking about you, then so be it. If you do think that, maybe just maybe try to be nicer.
i am not perfect (I am just awesome).

So please stop arguing. It's not helping. If you think by making the most noise you will be heard..you might be right...but it is for the wrong reasons and you voice becomes less powerful year after year. Do you really want to be known as that person?

Covid is taking a toll on all of us. I am stressed, pissed off , sad frustrated , worn out, the list keeps going.

if you are not happy and need to vent, send me a pm, text FB message. I will always listen. Fight fighting and nitpicking is not cool.

This Shit does not help. This used to be a fun place to come and chat...post things...not anymore. i truly miss that. Don't let this turn into FB
