A UR magical quiver of alteration
A different take on ammo of alteration and the rare quiver for 2020
Provides all arrows/bolts a change of type.

This puts all arrows into play hugely for the cost of a back slot

Seems like a highly expensive token to be created as an ultra rare.

I can't see many players wanting this as a token.

Maybe a 3* or 4* transmute would be a better spot for it.

So I understand, it would be a back slot, and would allow any ammo be used in a sling, gun, crossbow or bow? I could see also a back slot that would transform ammo for your current weapon into +3/+3? Or is it just arrows and bolts can be used for crossbows and bows interchangeably?

I believe the proposal would turn a +2 Holy Arrow into a +2 holy sling bullet for a sling user.

Not sure it would terribly popular, even at rare, but it’s an interesting idea. Turning the ammo into +3/+3 could possibly do it - turn common ammo into +3 ammo would be interesting.

Yes, I agree that as stated that would not even be powerful enough to be a rare item. The real problem is that nothing really concerning ammo is going to be powerful enough to be a back slot item. No one will come out and say this so I will. Ammo isn't powerful enough in and of itself to warrent a back slot item unless that back slot item makes the ammo much much more powerful.

In a dungeon where you can ignore saves where damage output mattered, I'd consider Quiver of Boosting. That's really hard to engineer. One of the VTD dungeons was one I could see ignoring saves, though it required certain other features. If doing like Double Down, damage would matter more.

For instance, with the damage build above, I could see making two changes and running on a NM DD. Those same two changes, and I could see on Epic in a dungeon I can think of where only the average Fort save is much of a risk.

Rather than use back slot, a UR bow that added damage with ammo or UR crossbow or UR sling, maybe the last is best as cleric could use a good, new ranged weapon below Thor's, would interest me more in terms of consuming tokens.

VTD makes me feel better about using consumables in general due to them getting more use than they normally do. To the point, where there are some consumables I actually want to use. Once back to PTD, probably won't bother anymore as who wants to carry a bunch of junk around?

This post echoes some of my feelings. I don't use a lot of consumable to begin with, but I hate:
1. Carrying them around in the dungeon (extra weight)
2. Fumbling for them when I need them (as hard as I try to organize, it can take a lot of time in the dark and more than once I've just given up)

However, in VTD I can have several small stacks of consumables lined up and just toss them in a bag for the next in-person con after I use them. And while I still use very few consumables, said bag easily has over a 100 tokens in it at this time.

If we are talking Cleric ranged weapon, I would really like a sling that improves accuracy. Though, as I think about it, even a relic +4 sling probably wouldn’t help, as it would just mean I have +5 ranged attack.

I misunderstood the original idea and thought that it could change or give a damage type to an ammunition.

For example turn a Arrow of Fire into a Arrow of Shock.

The ability to add a type of damage to your ammunition in order to exploit a weakness might make ammo usage more appealing. I think it could be an interesting type of transmute.
