Cloistered Holy Symbol - making sure I understand it:

Turn Undead now grants becomes 20 points of damage (+spell damage bonus), no skill test possible, to be distributed as the Cleric sees fit among all undead?

If that's correct then for 4th level Clerics vs # of undead:

1 undead : +12-15 more damage (depending on skill test)
2 undead: +4-10 more damage
3 undead: -4 to +5 more damage
4 undead or more: even or worse than basic

I applaud trying to improve turn undead - I worry that this is a really huge boost at rare that makes stuff harder later.

For the 5th level cleric the long out of print Greater Holy Symbol of Pelor is better if you can pass the skill test.

Charm of the Doppleganger - is it:

+2 polymorph damage

Or +2 damage to everything (melee, spell, I'm not sure if you can do scrolls or wands while Polymorphed) while polymorphed?

Ring of Storms: I think this is the right power level for a spell only damage ring at rare (and +3 is fine at UR).

Nice to see us get here (if it holds up)...

On the other hand, Ring of Jealous Protection looks a little lame next to it. I know new players tend to focus on AC quite a bit more than vets, but 2 ring slots for +2 ac vs 1 for +2 spell damage seems a little out of whack.

Could Ring of Jealous Protection go from +1 AC to +3 AC if there are no other rings?

What does Rum Drinker's Earcuff transmute into?

I'm assuming it has to be the Charm of the Newt?

Dorky questions I don't need an answers to, but are fun for me to think about:

What happens if a caster uses Scroll Maze Self while:

a. Mazed by the past effect of another Scroll of Maze Self last round?

b. While Mazed by a monster (e.g. can this unmaze you?)

c. If a monster is Mazed, and you read this, are you and the monster in the same place?

d. If I read two of these with Lenses of Sage Speed or Shield of the Scholar, where do I end up, and where do I return to?

I wonder if Scroll Remove Woe could accommodate a drawback like:

Each caster can read only 1 per room.

Each person can only have Woe removed 1/dungeon.

I probably worry too much but this seems like it's too easy to avoid negative things with no restrictions.

+1 Blunderbuss has a 7.66 avg dmg wheel. 33% chance of misfire.
+2 Boomstick has a 7.88 avg dmg wheel. 25% chance of misfire.

The +1 Blunderbuss is probably superior when a player equips Enchanted Whetstone.

This seems okay since the Boomstick is a 9 year old token. I just thought it was worth pointing out.

Beertram posted this in URs accidentally:

Beertram wrote: I would prefer to see the Charm of the Doppleganger be +2 to hit instead of damage. Damage value is rarely an issue when polymorphed, but hitting while polymorphed is always a problem.

But I agree. +to-hit would be a better option. There are already a lot of amazing options to increase damage in this set, and that's in addition to the completion tokens printed this past year.

To date, there are no tokens that boost polymorph to-hit (other than items that boost overall melee to-hit). Either that is intentional design, or long overdue.

On the subject of Polymorph...

Potion Polymorph Sea Troll is very strong. 8.13 damage average is second only to Cave Bear and Sea Troll comes with the upside of having no underwater penalties.

That's probably fine, as it's been a very long time since a strong potion was printed. Worth noting, though.

Does Red Oaken Bead still transmute into Bead of Brawn?

It's odd that a CON bead transmutes into a STR bead.
