Agree, remove the expanded crit range from the UR's.


That would make them a UR that is -1 to damage vs existing exalted Blessed Tempest Gloves.

This is 100% an issue, and the root problem is so much has already been done at UR gloves. Additionally, anything made in the glove spot competes with the in print deadshot gloves, so we have a further limitation on where we can start.

These gloves are going to be pretty challenging to do given existing glove options without also stepping on things like the amulet of aiming. The competition is:
Ranged:
Blessed Tempest / Gloves of Greater Archery / cutpurse

Melee:
Death Knight Gloves / Brute / Gauntlets of Linked Fury / weapon finesse

It really seems like the best way to start would be a reprint of one of the following:
Cutpurse
Weapon Finesse
Brute
Linked fury

And then riff on it from the POV of the reprint.

I don’t think we want to start with an expanded crit Range on the gloves. If we do, it turns off a lot of the future use of expanded crit range. Might be best to treat the expanded range as a neck level power (even if it technically might not be).

While we're talking names, Amulet of Magnifying seems like it could use some work. Maybe:

I am not excited about the gloves: there is no doubt they are powerful, but right on the heels of powerful damage (Muk's) and versatile/powerful (Luna's) last year I'd like to see something that focuses on other than damage.

Ideas for hand paths that mix it up a bit more:

Idea 1: Versatile / Interesting effect rings gloves:
Gloves of Glory reprint: You may equip 3 rings
Gloves of Wonder: As Gloves of Glory, and may equip a 4th ring that does not affect the party card or slots
Barb Beard's Grasp of the Pentapus*: As Gloves of Glory, and you may equip a 4th and 5th ring that do not affect the the party card or slots

Idea 2: Consolidate physical damage gloves similar to Muk's, and reinvigorate the cabal set, or, create a new caster set (coven set) whose synergy stuff is only things players track to save coaches sanity:

1. UR Cabal Gloves: Combine the effect of the UR Spell Book and the Gloves of the Cabal ( TDb Link ) into one UR token; spells cast via the spell book mechanism count as scrolls for the purposes of the Gloves of the Cabal effect.

2. Relic Cabal Gloves: As UR, but cast a unique C/UC/Rare scroll without turning it in as a FA by sacrificing a spell slot (2/game)

(Unique means you can't cast the same scroll twice during an entire adventure)

3. Legendary Cabal Gloves: As Relic, but can cast unique scrolls as a FA by sacrificing a spell slot (1/room)

4. Change the Arcane Charm to a Cabal set item, e.g. Coven's Pentagram
* 1-2 in party: +2 to spell healing and damage
* 2-3 in party: +2 to focus
* 5 in party: +3 to focus

5. Add an new Cabal set item replacing the UR Spell Book.

Idea 3: Consolidate the two proposed Deadly Gloves into a single token similar to Muk's, and add a defensive oriented Ioun Legendary:
UR Defensive Ioun: 1 HP Regen, +1 to AC
Relic Defensive Ioun: 1 HP Regen, +1 to saves
Legenday Defensive Ioun: 1 HP Regen, +1 to saves, +1 to AC, and become invisible until you take an offensive action 1/game.

* Barb Beard's pet Octopus that is down to its last 5 legs due to an encounter with Francis the Snapping Turtle.

Is Focus going to be defined - as it currently doesn't have a clear meaning? Focus weapon is a category in tokendb and includes weapons that don't add to healing or polymorph damage.

So, Deadshot is just this year. More damage is pretty much every year. While hands is a slot with no legendary, it's not the only one. Feet doesn't have one, either, and 2023 URs/transmutes include zero feet slot tokens. Just having one hands transmute path undermines recent UR, two is pretty much saying don't care what gets made one year to the next.

Not only would feet get no UR+ in 2023, feet got a grand total of two tokens in 2022, a common and a rare. It is vastly more coherent to create a feet legendary path. Can move back to something like Linda's original boots token and do something that isn't just more damage. Free movement always makes sense for boots. Evasion would make sense. Some of the effects on earlier token were odd for boots, but I can even see how they could make sense. DR makes sense, though that overlaps with greaves. AC would make sense.

For instance:
UR = +2 AC, Free Movement, immune to Surprise, Maze, Petrification
Relic = +4 AC, "", Evasion
Legendary = +6 AC, "", Improved Evasion

If the reason for any gloves thing this year is to honor Acherin, then a variation of the original plan is okay, if not exactly optimal this year:
UR = Gloves of the Cutpurse
Relic = +6 DEX, -1 STR
Legendary = +7 DEX

Don't need anything involving crits. Crits are interesting to me currently; when crits are ubiquitous, they become vastly less interesting. Increasing crit damage, meanwhile, is just a backdoor damage increase and has messy interactions with crit multipliers that currently exist, like Dwarf.

Wizard likely MEC/boost on an auto x3 so that is +120… might be pushing things too far. This is often attempted with the rogue legendary but that includes a chance of not criting.

Crit effects are cumulative so it would be x4 but since Fury is a "counts as" crit it might not meet the criteria of being a triggered crit

Neck would recommend no Paladin or Bard since their class legendaries did not occupy neck slot.

If they stay as is then would suggest replacing several of the map and amp for wizards - intensify,l and sharpen. Either way would like replacement for intensify.

The only neck transmute I see is the +1 str +1 con 3*. Can you clarify what you’re trying to say here?
