Announcing the inaugural run of the Order of the Hedgehog (aka Retribution Club, aka "come at me bro")

I have all 10 tickets and am looking for more players; post here with class preferences if you'd like to join!

Order of the Hedgehog precepts (draft, subject to tweaking):

• win as many combats as possible using ONLY Retribution damage
• mercilessly attack any foes too cowardly to engage us in melee
• or if they suggest a game of Plunder
• not sure yet about difficulty level; HC might be more achievable than NM within a 12-minute time limit, but I'm open to opinions

1. David Zych: Paladin/Cleric/Fighter/Dwarf/Warden/ Bard /Elf (CoA x2)
2. zinniz: Barbarian (CoA x3) {paid}
3. BasicBraining: Druid {paid}
4. Wade: Dwarf/Troubadour/Paladin (CoA xPlenty) {paid}
5. Rachel: Dwarf/Paladin {paid:Wade}
6. Charles Russell: Fighter/Paladin {paid}
7. Alex (zinniz+1): Rogue {paid:zinniz}
8. Lord Brian: Cleric/Druid/Paladin/fighters (CoA x2) {paid}
9. Kendal: Monk/any (CoA) {paid}

We don't necessarily need 10 players, but I don't want to end up with minimal-treasure ghost tickets either, so LMK if you're potentially willing to take ghost tickets and/or have extra TEs to cover ghosts. (well covered at this point)

Initial thoughts:

Build for high RD (hopefully 15+), low AC, and appropriate DR; we're going to take a lot of hits. Remember that you must actually suffer at least 1 point of damage to inflict RD.

A retribution Paladin can guard at least 1 other character who then doesn't need to equip RD themselves; open to thoughts on how best to utilize that. (or Paladin could guard 2, but then can't equip Amulet of Thorns)

Taunt is still somewhat useful (since not all classes can equip Plate of the Forge) but perhaps less than usual.

If we end up being a small group, could be amusing to build a Ranger:Warden who casts Thornskin as many times as possible (probably on DF and/or Paladin). I might take this role on myself if other key classes are covered.

Noteworthy RD gear: I own extra Amulet of Thorns, Charm of Thorns, Charm of Barbs. I own only one (i.e. for myself) Belt of Thorns (UR), Charm of Thorny Barbs, Plate of the Forge, Scorpion Chitin Armor. DK set could be good for classes who can't wear Plate of the Forge; I own Mail and Gauntlets but no Boots. I don't own any Ring of X Elemental Command.

Chime in if you have relevant stuff to loan, in case someone wants to join who doesn't already collect these things.

FYI it's possible for a fighter type to reach 15 RD with no URs:
Neck: Amulet of Thorns
Torso: Plate of the Forge
Waist: Belt of Retribution
Charm: Charm of Thorny Barbs
Charm: Charm of Thorns
Charm: Charm of Barbs

Im rocking the DK set with mail, so I should probably go for a medium armor class. Probably Druid.

I can get my ret to 16, or 20 if I can replace my amulet of treasure finding. AC should be around 15, and wonder effect for 4 DR.

I have a spare set of forge plate, charm of thorns and thorny barbs.

You can replace your AoTF, assuming you have a charm slot open.

Can do, and I've been keeping a collection of Potion Eel's Defense, so bottoms up!

This sounds like it could be fun. I could bring along a fighter with 23 ret damage or a paladin with the amulet of guarding with 19.

I have two CoA's I'm flexible with build. Cleric/Druid/Paladin/or fighters.

Hello fellow hedgehogs, it's time to start playing character class sudoku!

I don't think my Warden concept really makes sense with a full party, so I'm crossing that off my list. To a first approximation that leaves 5 people primarily interested in various subsets of the 4 classes who wear heavy armor (Dwarf/Fighter/Paladin/Cleric), plus Alex as '?'

We definitely need a Cleric, which could be either Lord Brian or myself.

Wade, what are you most excited to play?
- If you want either Dwarf or Paladin, then Rachel gets the other of those, Charles gets Fighter, Lord Brian gets Cleric, and I'll probably take Bard -- unless Alex is interested in Bard, in which case I can take Elf and cast Invisibility a lot.
- If you want to run Troubadour, that opens up many other possible combinations (and potentially leaves a heavy-armor-wearing class available for Alex if he wants one)

We also still have room for one more party member!

I'm happy to play Dwarf. Unless others really want something else.

Excellent, that answer helps a lot with narrowing down the sudoku!
