Seems kind of hard to avoid a mechanic on any token in the game that is still relevant.

Could interact more with puzzles, though that's likely just more hints.

Can do things similar to Restore Spell/Power, but that treads on cleric.

Can have more non-damaging effects that impact monsters. Some class reduces AC, some class removes a spell ability, some class removes Retribution, some class removes Incorporeal, Mirror Image, Displacement, flying, etc.

As far as unique effects go what you currently have ARE unique effects except for the figurine slot one which could be changed to the belt slot. Yes, the slots being discussed offer slot expanders themselves but there are not currently slot expanders for those slots.

That said, I do agree with what someone else said about offering the ability to not turn in ammunition or potions similar to the tome of useful scrolls. I personally have avoided using ammunition and potions because they must be turned in after use and would welcome the ability to NOT do that.

Not already available on tokens-ish ideas:

Spell damage bonus applies to Wands, Scrolls, and/or Spells Cast as a Scroll

Gain Eldritch Runestone / UR Special effect (or a rotating bonus similar to these, the "follower X bonus")

Shapeshifter - You may copy some party card attribute (e.g. HP, Ranged-AC, Immune to Surprise) from another member in your party

Improved Spell Swapping - You can swap a level N spell for a level N or lower healing or damage spell

Locked and loaded - Turn in some number (e.g. 5) of identical consumable tokens to gain their effect for the whole adventure (e.g. turn in 5x Potion Bull's Strength to gain +4 to STR)

An inexhaustible damage Cantrip that uses spell bonus

Vow of Poverty - Gain some benefits in exchange for reduced treasure

Vow of Pacifism - Gain some benefits, but you can't take offensive actions

Contested Saves - The DC monsters must meet to save vs. effects you generate is _your_ save modifier +10

Static Hit Score - to hit a monster you must slide a X or higher, period (no modifiers matter, just hit a 16+)

Weapon Specialization - Gain bonuses for a particular weapon type (spears, axes, etc.)

Special Pucks

The ability to slide from a different starting point

Mind Guardian - If you pass a will save and another player failed, you can swap the result if both players agree

Shared Rations - If you pass a fort save and another player failed, you can swap the result if both players agree

Shove - If you pass a reflex save and another player failed, you can swap the result if bother player agree

Plague Aura - You gain benefits while diseased / poisoned

Bring back UV lights (or RFID wands) for Detect Magic / Detect Secret Doors

Medic - You can take an additional free action on rounds where you make no hostile action

The Hero We Need - Ranger chooses favored enemy type during coaching

I think it would be OK to keep slot expanders if you put a limit on max slots by location similar to what we have for charms / ion stones. Having more ways to open up slots allows for flexibility in gear which is nice.

I think I am just going to make all 8 Followers slot expanders for slots that already have a slot expansion in place. That will limit the power of these Follower while providing a nice power. The max of Charms slots will go to 11 and Ioun Stones to 10.

Wrist

You could go with a set of defensive abilities. I think they might feel somewhat duplicative or similar to figurines, but that is probably ok.
* Auto make a save
* Counter a spell effect (curse, damage, etc.)
* Block a melee or ranged hit

You could consider expanding on psionics - this is a part of the game with a lot of rules, but not a lot of opportunity to use them outside of Skull of Cavadar

You could look at some sort of synergy bonus based on the party collectively having a bunch of unique followers (a group set bonus).

How would those interact with of Glory and Brooching that specifically say up to a certain number? Would those older items get an errata to say they increase by 1?

How would those interact with of Glory and Brooching that specifically say up to a certain number? Would those older items get an errata to say they increase by 1?

Maybe they don’t stack with those. Still have value to let you use a different charm though

I like this idea. It also will help a lot with token design, as it opens up more builds that will want to use these slots if there are new cool tokens for them.

I did like the thought of seeing the Shirt expander, but that's just some bias from seeing some neat shirts in the past and the new Arcanum shirt taking up the slot now.

The bead expander coming back would be especially appreciated since Mythic Avarice requires SH1, meaning all three bead slots will be TE's for a lot of folks for a long while.

FYI, Ear currently has no expander Option.

Furthermore, It currently has 2 slot expanders with another planned. Letting someone equip an extra ear is the same as giving 2 Charm or 2 ioun, depending which they equip along with Earcuff of greater glory
