Although the +x to ability score of your choice seems cool I'm afraid once you go down this path there's no going back to bonuses for specific abilities. The +x to ability score of your choice feels like it should be in a Relic level Token.

Also, what does this do to the folks creating the character builder apps? There are 4 UR's with this power, I'm guessing the character builders will have to have 6 different ones listed (one for each ability) so 4 Tokens makes for 24 additional things in the app to scroll down. Maybe not a big deal for scrolling but what about coding? Might want to check with them on this.

Troll Shield is overpowered.

+3 to AC and +3 to Strength is comparable to the current Relic shield which is +5AC. Suggest lowering the Strength to +2.

Armor of the Ancients is overpowered. I'd say it's better than the Relic Blessed Redoubt Mail. +1 to an ability score is as good as (or better) than +2 AC.

I really like the changes that were made. Thanks for adding the elf wizard to the troll charm. The new shield is excellent. Bead of shared health is a great idea, I love the thought of having synergistic hp regeneration. The Charm of the Ancients will need a buff, since its choose your own benefit(great idea) something universal would be good, AC was suggested and I would support that. Wings of wrath make for an really good second cloak with broaching. Making the robe part of the set makes it much easier for casters to get the bonus. I think the choose your benefit is awesome for new players who don't know what class they want to play or cant always play the same class, making them universal makes them a good utility token and ill definitely keep any I get for loaners.

Belt of Beads is WAY overpowered.

With three additional slots the UR Belt can become:

+5 to Saves
+3 to Strength
+3 to Dexterity
+3 to Focus

That's beyond even a Legendary Token! I was going to say limit it to 2 extra Beads but honestly I'd just like it scrapped. The last few years we've seen WAY too many slot expanders. Slot expanders are overpowered and not really fun at all. There's no theme to tie to them, no cool ability. Please scrap!

On the Troll Shield, what does the "Cannot Unequip" mean?

+2 str is the orb of might, so for Paladin and Fighter at least they should get something better than just 3 ac tacked onto the orb of Might. +3 str is fine.

Bead of Shared Health: the name seems to imply it increase max HP rather than its regen effect.

Belt of Beads: seems overtuned. Compare to Orion's Belt, a Relic; and also, beads are generally stronger than charms and Ioun stones since they were initially designed with a slot cap of 1. If this must exist, 1/2/3 slots would be pretty reasonable (or maybe 2/3/4; haven't taken a look at beads/charms/Ioun stones recently).

Boots of Defiance: how does it interact with Barbarian subclass Berserker's Fight After Death?

Charm of Trollform: has the same average damage as Iktomi's. Ouch. (To be clear, I think for a once-per-game token it's a reasonable damage wheel; the complaint is that Iktomi's damage wheel is undertuned.)

Flik wrote: Can I say that I wish Gloves of Divine Touch weren’t in the glove spot? Last year I lobbied hard for what ended up being Gauntlets of Divine Guidance, mostly because UR healers didn’t have anything to put in that slot. I was very excited and gladly jumped on an Onyx one as a must have.

These new Gloves of Divine Touch immediately replace them the next year….as an epic geared healer I cannot pass up more healing and more importantly a third way to split my healing spells. I will be sad I have to immediately put my Divine Guidance in the proverbial trash bin in one year.

Can we please have this item in a different slot? I think the best slot is actually Feet because no +healing item exists there. I think Ioun Stone (replacing the new focus one), Charm, Head, Legs, Back, or Ring would all be better as well.

But the feels bad on that will be real to all the healers who ran out to buy Divine Guidance. Thank you for all the hard work.

I agree with the above 100%. I love these gloves, especially if they were last year. While the gauntlets are still in print, though, they are much less exciting.

If possible could it be moved to ring? We haven’t had a Focus or Healing ring for a really long time, so this would be pretty Fantastic on a ring.

I missed the feedback on the original one, so here goes:

+2 Savage Sword: I don't know much about melee options, so nothing too interesting from me here.
Acherin's Biting Bow: Same, but ranged. Folks who know what they're talking about have had much more nuanced opinions.
Armor of the Ancients: This seems pretty cool. It's a nice, generically useful set of armor.
Bead of Shared Health: I like a new pseudo-hp synergy item. Balance-wise this seems fine, but probably won't displace most other beads that are out there. It is a fast follow up to harlax.
Belt of Beads: Based on the bead power levels, this kind of outclasses Orion's (a relic). It only gets better and better as you go up the upgrade chain. This, plus stronghold, plus marks, plus spirit pets is a ton of new slots and I feel like folks are having things they just recently got outclasses quickly. For example, there's the proposed +10 strength mythic belt. Will that compete with 5 beads? Based on iouns/charms...I *think* it might be outclasses already. If beads are more powerful, I'd love to see this be a slot where we have to make hard choices. If you see this as table-stakes for mythic, then it's probably better to be in the bracer slot and expandable through followers.
Boots of Defiance: I like this! It's a cool neat effect that might help get through room 7.
Bracelets of Bounding: This feels a little weak compared to older URs (Bracers of Supreme Archery) and I think Charm Bracers pretty much out classes it immediately too. Maybe +Dex and something else? +2 Dex and +2 something else?
Charm of the Ancients: Seems cool, I have no idea if this is good or not. I like the flexibility as part of a set.
Charm of the Trollform: Elf Wizards basically don't polymorph since there's not a lot of support for it. I know the Druids haven't been too excited about it, so I'd rather see something properly polymorphy that drops Elf. I think it's really good for druid identity to have the polymorph focus. Then elf can become more unique too.
Earcuff of Sage Spite: Really strong, but maybe okay since the slot is already highly contested?
Figurine of Power: Cat: Cool reprint :)
Gloves of Divine Touch: I like seeing another dividing ability. I'm not sure about slot/bonus. I'd defer to people that primarily play healers.
Greaves of the Stalwart: I like that this is back to DR. Still a little sad that it will ultimately replace the prior greaves right after release.
Ioun Stone Amethyst Prism: Seems fine, pretty straightforward.
Libram of Looting: Awesome reprint!
+2 Mystic Staff of the Ancients: This is a cool new weapon. Realistically, wizards still won't use it outside of HC since there's not enough INT to hit. I don't know about other classes.
Ring of the Ancients: Seems fine, but I'm not sure how interesting it is.
Rob of the Ancients: We've moved really far from a wizard robe. I totally understand if that's not a design goal for 2024, but if wizard robe is a design goal, this isn't it. prior discussion here ( truedungeon.com/forum?view=topic&catid=527&id=254449 ). A few choice ideas, though there are plenty to work with.
Mad Evoker's Muumuu:
At the start of the game you may reduce your max HP by up to 10.
For every 2 HP reduced in this manner, gain +1 to spell damage.

Arcane Robe of the Ancients
+1 Focus and +1 CON. (Part of both sets, has this been done before?)

Wizard Crop Top of Coverage (if int will be converted to focus): +5 to Intelligence

Robe of Empowered Scrolls (Bard/Wizard): 1/game: Add your focus to a scroll

Robe of Expertise: 1x/game: Use a spell without marking it. Expertise Set (does something cool with re-use).

Evoker's Robe: +2 to hit with slide spells. +2 focus.

Troll Shield: This seems really cool. I don't know if the can't equip is a real downside though.

Wings of Wrath: I like the special effect. I know other people disliked that +damage was different from what the back slot normally is, but I thought that was a really cool tradeoff. It lets melee characters, especially barbarians lean into the "how much DPS do I want" side of things. How about +3 damage with 2H weapons and the special effect?

I'm looking at Shield compared to other Shields. And it's on par with a Relic. If you wanted to look at other Tokens (which I don't think you should) you could also say the Troll Shield is +3 AC, + another Volunteer UR (Onyx Cube), + a Rare Volunteer (Onyx Sphere) which...is too good.

Another UR robe idea that someone else suggested:
Mark of an additional spell to add +X base damage to another spell (based on level?)
maybe (Level + 1) *2 to the base? It's a bit messy to calculate, but something along this line of thought could be cool.

- It would let spell bards do a bit more damage.
- Cleric could get a bit more of a punch in when its needed.
- Druids could lean more towards DPS with it.
- Wizards get to actually use all their spells + it applying it as base damage would allow it to stack with MEC, so it would count as a wizard robe you can grow into.
