TOPIC: Rarity Marks Idea?

I don't like the left and right dots at the top, that is too similar to the established TBO marking.
I love the heart symbol for volunteer tokens if that can be done.
I don't like 'no symbol' as a default for common, as that is what all tokens currently have. I prefer no symbol to mean 'before rarity symbols started'.

Maybe use different shapes on a single side of the trade good initials.

What about different shapes below the symbol, or above and adjust letters down?

Or where the exalted, enhanced, relic symbol goes?

I like this idea. I would also advocate that these only get added to tokens that turn into trade goods, special and volunteer tokens. Not needed for URs.

How about instead of having the year symbols (in this case the ankh) on both left and right sides, replace one of them with a rarity mark such as C, U, or R? More intuitively straightforward, doesn’t remove info, and doesn’t cause confusion with various dot combos.

+1 to this. And if TD wants to keep the year symbols on the sides they could always put a small C, U, or R above one of them.

I would much rather C/U/R system used than symbol system. It's far less likely to be ignored or confused with some other data on the token. Just can pick a spot that doesn't run into other letters on tokens.

I think it can be accomplished simply by using our pre-existing "non standard token" dots -- only just show one of them. See example.

Thus, all Commons won't have a mark at all.

All Uncommons will have a single dot on the left side of the Trade token initials.

All Rares will have a single dot on the right side of the Trade token initials.

All Ultra Rares have the star-dimples instead of the round dimples.

All Participation tokens and all but two of the Volunteer tokens are Rares so they double dots shown will just mean they are non-standard collection tokens. The other two Volunteer tokens are URs and they have the star dimples.

I understand that this marking system is not readily apparent, but for the folks who need it -- it should work great while not adding any more design elements to the tokens.

I like this solution very much. Not only am I color blind but my vision is impaired as well. the dots you propose will make things much easier for me at least.

I like the concept, but adding it to the trade good letters, while works, is not intuitive, and makes it harder to use the original dots to quickly note special tokens.

I like the idea of symbols. It mirrors what some other collectables do, and it matches the design shorthand established by the transmute symbols.

I see the issue with having logical symbols that don’t conflict with the transmutes. I do like the Idea of (C, U, R, UR) or possibly putting tally marks for the level. (I, II, III, IIII)

To keep it simple I'd put these in the same spot at the transmute symbols. (Same design shorthand)

I think you need to have a mark for common, because older tokens regardless of rarity don't have a mark.

I would also recommend adding S for special tokens, or IIII for any other token that would not otherwise have a rarity symbol.
