Only going from +5 at UR to +6 at relic feels odd.

+5 makes sense as at the UR level it is a functional reprint of:

tokendb.com/token/gauntlets-of-linked-fury/

The Relic probably should have been +7, but not sure it is worth reopening this. Most folks making the Relic will eventually try and make the Legendary (is my guess).

This UR also includes ranged 2 handed weapons, but I get where you're coming from
+5/+7/+9 seems more logical, but a LOT of damage

It’s not a functional reprint. Gauntlets of linked fury don’t add damage to 2H Ranged weapons. +4 damage is fully appropriate given linked fury, and then the transmute chain makes a lot more sense

It'll really depend on the recipe makeup to determine if it's really worth the +1 damage going from UR to Relic. That's my only concern really with such a minor upgrade from 1 stage to the other. Budget players would likely stick with UR than go to relic and spend those dollars elsewhere IF the receipes are similar to previous recent years. Guess we can just wait and see.

Or we could tone down the UR.

That just feels worse given that Gauntlets of Linked Fury already exist and is from 2015. For a new player to buy / receive a UR and have it strictly be worse than an 9 year old token doesn't sit well. I would think over time we would either do direct reprints or have newer tokens expand powers rather than restrict further. I don't mind the Legendary being a bigger step past Relic in fact I advocate that a good bit. However, if that is the direction I would encourage Relics to be adjusted for a lower recipe cost since they are a minor upgrade. This would theoretically encourage more UR level players into the transmute system. Just a thought.

It's not a functional reprint of Linked fury because it doesn't have the two hand weapon restriction which is huge because it typically impacts all classes except Barbarian.

+4 damage with no restrictions is more inline with linked fury. 4/6/8 is the way to go.

Gauntlets of length fury are not the same because of the restriction.

Tell that to the new player who decides to play Barbarian.

No, we can't.

I mean, technically we could, but these files are either at the printers or will be there any minute.

Probably time to stop arguing balance concerns.

We could however bring up transmute costs. Keep them low for Relic since its a minor upgrade and bring them higher for Legendary compared to prior years.

Hello New Player Barbarian,

In gloves, you have 3 big options:

An older OOP UR that gives +5 damage to melee weapons only
A newer, though still OOP UR that gives +4 Str
A currently in print UR that gives +4 damage to your melee weapons, and +4 damage to UR ranged weapons like the +1 Mighty Longbow and +1 Mighty Shortbow that are currently under PYP price.

If I was a newer players I'd be happy with +4 damage as a Barbarian. If not I'd buy a Gauntlets of Linked Fury. New players don't have to always have the best gear, but it's available if they want it. TD shouldn't change power level within class rarities much overtime, if players want more power they should go up a rarity level. If it stays at 5/6/7 your still going to get players chasing the Relic/Legendary.
