TOPIC: Advice for a GenCon wish list?

Advice for a GenCon wish list? 11 months 4 weeks ago #1

Aside from having a GenCon wish list ready to submit the nanosecond the Cornucopia wish list submission floodgates open, any suggestions for creating a wish list that will let multiple people get at least one run of each dungeon together? For example, are there any run times that are particularly less in demand?

You might want to space the times on the wish list out, because if you get a run it will block out any runs that overlap those times. I'd say early morning and late nights sell out last, as do Thursday runs, but last year everything sold out nearly instantly.

If you want to have a certain number of tickets, make sure you choose the option to get all or none of the tickets. that's what I always do for my group.

So you can attempt to get an entire run?
My group is interested, but we may not have all ten players.
Do I need to have ten friends in my account or can I just buy all ten?

That's correct, so you can get a ticket for your whole group.

You don't have to list friends when you get tickets, you can choose yourself and then all extra tickets for yourself. That's what I always do, because it's always a bit fuzzy on exactly which friends will be on the run this far out from GENCON. :)

Always go with the option of Ticket for yourself + Another Ticket For Self. The last time we tried to go through and do "Ticket for Yourself + Named person" it did a weird thing that blocked the other person from adding the same runs because the system saw an overlap.

The way we always did it was sit down and divide up the list of run times that could work in our schedule between those of us going to Gen Con, and everyone took a block of time and added as many events as they had available on their wishlist with those runs. Literally just going down the list for every twelve minutes per dungeon lol. Sometimes we would double up if a certain time frame worked best. Then everyone just clicked the process wishlist button and hoped someone got through quick enough to get some tickets.

We never had issue with this tactic, but there were only ever four of us going for it, so not sure how well it would work for a batch of ten tickets.
