Our group, we split buying tickets up between three of us.

First. Tickets have become the new Hotel process. Almost need access times to get them. Wait times were unbelievable.

We needed full runs.

First friend. JJ tried wish listing all runs on his after 8pm, got a full run after 9:30. 2700 position
I did the same on mine, got a full run after 9:30 4900 position
Pete struck out on the sealed event run. No full runs, and nothing with more than 4 tickets remaining. 8400 position

A 5k position was about 3 hours wait to get in.

Managed to get the runs for my group...but a crazy jammed schedule. Sounds like others fared much worse, so thankful.

GENCON site was far slower this year, I wonder if it was because of much higher volume this year due to no Covid restrictions.

My friend group mostly got numbers in the 7-9000 to start, one guy got around 4000.

It took forever to process the initial batch - 2.5 hours in line to get from 8000 something to the front. Got 2 tickets in 1 event out of 50 item wishlist.

Spent a few hours clicking refresh and managed to get 5 in a Darkhold Keep and 2 in a Tomb of Terror, which seemed to be in higher demand.

All in all it worked out OK.

I wish Gen Con would figure out a way to do a seeded serpentine allocation instead of this ridiculous winner-takes-all random by server queue thing. I had a friend who clicked around 0.6 seconds before me, and ended up around 1000 spaces in line behind me. Chaos.

It was nerve wracking, to be frank. I was around 1100 in the queue when it opened, and got all my tickets except a pair of TTRPG tickets I wanted... and after my cart had all the tickets added, it went back to syncing or whatever the state was. I couldn't check out and was placed back up to 11,200 or so in the queue.

Thankfully it held everything that was added in my cart, and I got TD tickets for myself and two of my group members (unfortunately my 4th person isn't attending this year).

Every year there are winners and losers.

this year I lost pretty big, happily there are some good great awesomely fantastic people in here and I now have one of each run for myself and my staff.

I don't think I've ever tried so hard to give a company $1,000 before. No luck finding a full run. If anyone has any to dump back in the system let me know!

Got zero full runs of ToT that fit my schedule but fortunate others got space i'll join. Still hoping for a full ToT run that'll fit my schedule.

I have to remind myself that as frustrating Gen Con system is and it is frustrating it's vastly preferable compared to other con's systems like Origins or PAX.

Queue processing was ridiculously slow at first. Seemed like maybe they got more resources added early afternoon and then it sped up a lot.

Our group's best queue slot was in the mid 7000s. Only had 3 people that needed tickets this year so a lot easier than the full runs. Got a Darkhold and Barb Beard in the general vicinity of the desired times.

Gen Con could balance out the winner/loser-ness quite a bit if they cared to. I'm baffled they do not. There's no good reason I can think of why one customer should get all their events and another none of their events, when they both mashed the button at noon eastern.

Forgot to click at noon, was basically locked out of everything I wanted by the time I remembered. So if anyone needs a +1 in the evening hit me up.

I literally got nothing on my wishlist. Started at 8439 and everything was sold out by the time it processed.

Had 50 Full run TD events in my Wishlist. 25 ToT and 25 Darkhold. Had 7974 for a queue number so I got 1 out of my 50. I cannot complain though because my cousin snagged 3 full runs with a much lower queue number and my sister snagged one with her higher number. We selected 1 ToT and 1 Darkhold out of the 5 and release the rest into the wild after none of my group of friends expressed interest in them. So it was one of the scariest ticket acquires I have had since it is usually just me getting tickets and I would have only had 1 event. But it worked out for me.
