TOPIC: Wednesday (2/21) Update - The Schedule Moving Forward

Wednesday (2/21) Update - The Schedule Moving Forward 2 months 1 week ago #1

New versions of the "final" token images will be posted later today. I am hoping we are very close to putting them all to bed. Your feedback is much appreciated in that regard.

I thought it would be good to give our faithful Forumites an idea of what and when we will also be working on this year. These are projects to improve the TD game, and your participation in the process will be needed -- and valued.

1) Finalize standard token designs - we hope to put a pin in all the token designs (Common-UR and more) we have been sharing by the end of Friday of this week. Thanks for your help with that.

2) After the token images are finalized, we will publish the remaining details for the Safehold program which will involve the Safehold II and Safehold I tokens -- and all the fun stuff there.

3) Next up will be the redesign of the character classes for 2025. We want to get those done in March so the programmers have ample time to get them programmed by 2025.

4) Lastly, and hopefully very soon after the classes are re-aligned, we will hammer out any changes we want to make to the various class-specific Legendary tokens. We need to re-balance them so all class have equal amounts of fun. It is hoped we can work it out so all classes have about equal power in combat. We might need to tweak a few character cards, so this needs to happen immediately following any class card redesign. Also, just like the class card re-do, no changes will take place until January of 2025.

NOTE: The previously announced tweaking of how the Assassin's Crossbow and the Rogue Class Neck item interact will be addressed during the Legendary re-balance.

Sounds like we'll be busy! The good kind of busy! Thanks for including us. Jeff. I'm always proud to be part of this cool TD gaming community.

Looks like a good schedule! There may be some risk in doing class redesign after mythic token design. It really depends on the tokens in the docket for it.

If there could be some conflict I'd recommend doing class redesign and balance first but I understand time may be against you there.

Shouldn't this plan be part of the consideration for the 3x crit gloves currently under design too?

Wouldn't ALL classes, and ALL tokens benefit from being balanced around the new class cards and class legendaries? Is there any possibility of holding the token finalization until the other two critical parts of game balance are done as well?

Thanks Jeff, and thanks especially for putting #4 on the list. :)

I look forward to the rebalancing of the Class Legendaries. 80% of them are overpowered and need a good tweak.

Or 20% of them need a kick in the other direction.

Oof - not sure opening the door on the class based legendaries again is going to be nice (other than for Druid if polymorph is undergoing massive changes).

But I would welcome the opportunity to reign in the power level of most of them back towards the historic area for a legendary (which may not be in the cards!).

It will be challenging changing anything involving text, on the token, unless there is a turn-in for the new version. Which has happened before, so maybe it's in the cards again.

Jeff,
Are there going to be any overall combat changes that will need looking at?

I honestly hope not, IMO erratas/reissues like that really undermine confidence.
