TOPIC: A call to Grammarians!

<br /><br />Going further, try replacing the two subjects with proper names: Smakdown and Binia are comforting as they sit on my lap.<br /><br />Ummm.... ok that went somewhere else.<br />

For a very long time I thought the MST3k Gamera song was a literal translation of the actual japanese.<br /><br />Gamera is really neat,<br />Gamera is filled with meat,<br />We've been eating Gamera!<br />Shell, feet, eyes, brain, claws, breath scales, fun!

Dno't wrory aobut it.  No need to sepll crorcetly beacuse yuor eye pciks up the fsrit and lsat ltter.  Jsut the frist and lsat ltetres hvae to be coerrct and the barin wlil fgiure it out as lnog as the wrod has the rghit aomunt of ltters.

I agree with B. the sound is the subject the preposition phrase "of their throaty ...." refers to. The way to test it is to try saying it without the modifying phrase so leave out the "of..." and try "The sound is comforting." or "The sound are comforting" and see which one sounds the 'ickiest'.<br /><br />PS I have a masters in Linguistics and one in Communication Sciences and Disorders (I am a Speech Pathologist). But I won't charge you for advice this tim (just kidding).<br /><br /><br />
