It’s just been one episode , but that was my favorite Star Wars viewing since Empire.

I was hoping we’d see his escape from the Sarlacc, and we did!

But he seems…addicted? to bacta. I am very curious about that.

I had a completely different reaction. I was fuck no greater story again. Not even a grogu type teaser to be where is this going. He needs the bacta because he is is he has had a rough last 7 years. In the sarlaac for some period and then a captive of the Tusken Raiders for some period. He doesn’t get his armor back till he runs into Din which is about 7 years after he went into the sarlaac. Boba would only be in his 40’s at this point but looks like he is 60…lol so he has had a hard life.

That's been my problem with the D+ shows at large, still only been 1 episode in so far. Gonna give it time to see if it develops a greater story.

Definitely waiting to see where it goes, but compared to episode 1 of The Mandalorian, Wandavision, and even Hawkeye. This is that if I wasn't a HUGE Star Wars fan, I would be least likely to continue.

Yeah, this was definitely written for Star Wars fans who are familiar with the original trilogy. It was interesting to note what happened to Boba Fett after he fell into the sarlaac pit. But other than that, it was kind of meh. I'm willing to wait for the bigger story that I hope (and assume) will be forthcoming over the season. I understand that their first goal is to establish the supporting characters and the environment in which they intend to "play".

Not certain why you cannot do both. Again I think Wandavision, The Mandalorian and Hawkeye all setup the future of the series better than BoBF did in 1 episode. I do think you are right though that SW fans will watch, where people that were not necessarily SW fans watch Mando, and fell in love with Grogu.

I enjoyed the episode. I think the future was set up, with Mayors of Mos Espa not paying tribute, and secret assassins, and presumably more flashbacks to come to fill in more gaps.

While the first episode of Mando had a big reveal to create the setup for the series, as Mando was at that time a new character to us, how’s that going to last for multiple episodes? Followed by reveal, oh, now he has a moral quandary, and another character with instant appeal. The premise of Boba can be more straight forward, as a character we already know, but has stepped up to crime lord that to establish and maintain his empire.

I believe that while Disney is packaging this as 8 episodes, in the end it’s really going to be a 5+ hour movie, and will wait until it’s all done to make any final judgements.

Liked episode 2 also. I’m wondering if the whole series will be part flashback, part “present” time.

For hardcore Star Wars nerds, check the ending credits to see who the human couple getting harassed by the biker gang was. After seeing that, and then rewatching that scene, I then recognized the exterior of the building, that I missed the first time.

In part, it can be attributed to how much better the marvel team is than the Star Wars team. Imagine if ep 7-9 had been done with avengers writing…
