Yes, we have done them for years at Wizard Quest.

Last year they moved to a much larger location with multiple floors and quests. We had a chance to try it last summer and they were still finishing some things but it was a lot of fun.

You get a tablet and you need to navigate around the area to solve some quests, even a group of adults struggled to complete everything and it took some thought to solve things.

Worth the drive up from GHC if you can.

I've done it. In fact, I plan to be there next week. Lot of fun. Think D&D themed scavenger hunt.

Yep, I really enjoyed it. It’s impossible to complete everything in the 2 hours you get on your first visit. Basically there are many quest givers throughout the space (no actors, just static sculptures that talk to you through the iPad) and each will send you on a quest chain that requires finding the next location, hidden objects, etc. Exploring the space (it’s mazelike at times) was the most fun part.
Classes Played: Barbarian (65 times), Monk (56), Ranger (33), Rogue (25), Cleric (21), Fighter (13), Druid (12), Paladin (11), Dwarf Fighter (10), Bard (7), Elf Wizard (2), Wizard (2)

Definitely attempt with a small group if you can. Still no way to complete everything in 2 hours, but it helps.

While not exact, here's an example of a task. Faerie X is said to live in small room hidden in a tree. What color are her stockings? It's a multiple choice question you must answer correctly before you get the next task. Off you go exploring the area to find the faerie and note the color of her stockings.

Several tasks, loosely joined with a storyline comprise a quest. You must get all questions correct to complete a quest and are given a virtual reward.

You can guess at the answers, but after so many incorrect guesses you fail the quest. You can gain additional guesses by going to a station and solving a puzzle. I can't remember the exact puzzle, but one of these I solved felt very much like something used in TD.

Ultimately, your goal is to see how many quests you can complete in 2 hours. Did this with my son and grandson. Last time we completed 4 or 5 quests. I think it was 4 and close on a 5th.

There is an elevator, but it's 3 or 4 levels and using stairs to navigate is faster, but can get tiring. And while there are alternate routes to find answers, I remember crawling thru a tunnel on hands and knees to get to one answer quicker. Having a 10 year old along was actually helpful.

I loved the secret passageways and hidden clues. Experience with TD was helpful at times.

Right now, I do plan to arrive in Madison on Wed for GHC and would be open to taking people there for a day trip. It's a 45 to 50 min drive each way.

Just completed another very fun session of Wizard Quest. A few more notes. There are currently 16 quests. We made it thru 7 in 2 hours. Got slowed down in 1 due to a system issue. Not a big deal, but we had the right answer and it said we were wrong, burned up our essence and we had to solve a puzzle to get more.Oh well.

Has more hidden passageways than I remembered, but really a lot of fun. We found one hidden chamber we completely missed last time. Final note. It is NOT ADA friendly. Lots of stairs and narrow passages.

Edit: also, I'd you have a UV flashlight, bring it. Some clues require it. You can rent one from them for about $5, but better if you have your own.

Edit 2: Free parking behind the building or pay for metered parking on the street.

We did it before GHC last year and really enjoyed it. I would go back (and plan to)! Best with a group for sure.

I would totally like to do this with a group before GHC.

Right now they have 16 different quests grouped as part of Odyssey Quest.

They've announced that coming soon will be Freedom Quest where you try to see how many wizards you can free in 2 hours. Seems like soon would be before October.

I think that would be super cool...it would be hilarious to have a coordinated group enough to like, swarm it and complete a bunch of quests...it was SO fun last year.
