i think if hell freezes over then only those who are actually in hell will be effected. you should be fine, i live in detroit... 

To break the curse of the Billy Goat, the Cubs need only make it to the World Series - they don't have to win.  I doubt that would be any comfort, though.<br />

<br /><br />Well, I know of one 77 year old gent who will be dancing a jig if the Cubbies win!  My Dad placed a bet in Laughlin over the winter for the Cubs to win the World Series.  He kept offering to sell his ticket to anyone, but as the season went on, the price keeps going up!  Now, he says it's gonna cost a lot to get the ticket.  If the Cubs actually DID win the World Series, my Dad will win a nice little sum of cash-ola.  I think Jeff's wishing he would've bought the ticket when he could've gotten it for $20!  <br /><br />I don't know if my poor old Dad's heart will be able to take it if they actually win!<br /><br />Lori

<br /><br />Before the Sox won I always said that if the Cubs and Sox were in the Series together they would somehow both manage to lose.  <br /><br />That said, I've lived in Chicago (3 blocks from Wrigley) and now live in Massachusetts.  Unlike Ms. Clinton I will know who to root for.

As if my neighbors weren't obnoxious enough with Dice-K this and Dice-K that during the preseason... now I have to endure Boston in the playoffs. <br /><br />Doug- at least you live far enough from Fenway. I get to share the T during rush hour with hordes of fans while I am trying to catch my train home.<br /><br />Sorry if I sound bitter ... I grew up in Pittsburgh. Willie Stargell, why have you forsaken us?
