TOPIC: woohoo new record!

This is probably of no interest to anyone.
But I just had to say. Woohoo I have a new record.
My newest record for my friday walk: 28 3/4 miles!
Yeah baby, thats some serious steppin'!
Pixies got her walking shoes on!!!!
Woohoo. Ahhh the joys of a friday walk. *contented sigh*

Congrats on your new record! I think it's great that you exercise like that. Not many people could walk that far. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that just slightly farther than the distance for a marathon?

I dunno, I've never done a marathon.
My friday walks vary. 12 miles is my minimum. Usually I go for 4-5 hours. and do between 12-15 miles. Today I had a long day. And blew away my previous record of 22 miles. It feels great to have built up my stamina.
I love how I feel after a good walk. I tell you it is just the most amazing stress vent.
Plus my folks joined me this evening for my walk, and my mom brought us gals our big french lady hats, and we picked up my dad a worn leather tricorn hat. And so this evening was the adventures of Lady Dazzy, Lady Elk and Commadore Feathernese!
Ohh what fun. Now I just need to work on our costumes for in a couple weeks. *smiles*
But I am soo jazzed to have shattered my record. *wings aflutter* However shall I get to sleep tonight. heehehehhe *smiles*

That is very awesome. I like bikeing more though, but it would be hard to bike with ats like those on.

*smiles* I think 15 on a bike is great. Its probably more of a work out than aerobic walking. Goodness knows I probably could not bike as far as I can walk.
If you can do that I think its great! *smiles*

Ya know, after 28+ miles of walking, the last thing on my mind would be "How will I get to sleep?" It would be more like, "Aaaagh. Where's my bed?!?!"

I'm glad you set a new record, Dazzy! I'm also a big fan of walking/hiking, and I know how great a stress release it is. Good on ya!

You know its interesting how energized I can feel after walking 28 3/4 miles yesterday, and how drained I can feel today after cleaning my grandparents house. *little laugh*

Smokes DD, that's a lot of walking! As far as city streets or recreational walking goes, I don't think I've ever done more than about 8 miles in a day. Probably around 15 or so if you count search-and-rescue work, but that's in the woods, with a pack on, etc. Impressive number you got there!

Yes indeed! I was a competitive high school and college runner and the furthest I ever ran once was 19 miles!!!
