Dave needs a clone Jeff...you simply must find another Dave before it is too late...

I think someone asked this before but I'm not sure if we got an answer. How will this affect the Golden Tickets? Will they be divided evenly between the two types of bags?

Kim

It seems to me that one of every X URs is a Golden Ticket. So, as long as you are getting, say 10 random URs, you should have the exact same chance, regardless of whether you are getting them from light packs or heavy packs. I agree that the odds should be uniform, regardless of the type of token pack, though.
That's the part that I think could get tricky.

Kim
I don't see the harm in offering this up in increments of $1,000 -- if the person so chooses. It is less work for Dave, less work for collectors and it will free up more funding for the event. And the cool thing is if you don't want to partake...that is cool...your Commons are now less "common" than previous years.

Like I said, this will be sort of a pain to admin, but it is the least I can do for the awesome collectors. They give us the funding we need to make TD even better.

More info later once I get exact numbers put together for the 2010 set.

Thanks for all the feedback!

Speaking of the 2010 set - will you be looking for input on it soon, or token ideas? I'm already looking forward to the 2010 Token set =D

Thanks for all your patience with this subject while we worked out the token collection for 2010. I really want to do what I can to make Dave's life easier -- as well as the collectors. Plus...this saves us some money! We now have the final token images ready, so we can make some concrete assumptions now.

Can someone please now go through the Common images and figure out the exact amount of GP value that a $1,000 order would normal receive on average? Keep in mind that $1,000 order is 120 bags. We would send this to you in the form of Reserve Tokens with your special "condensed" purchase.

As far as healing tokens go...I think the only fair way to do it is just to include the average number of Jewel Weed Extract Common tokens (cures 1 pt) you would normally get with a 120 bag order ($1,000). My guess is that the average would be 120 bags X 6 Common tokens = 720 / 40 = 18 Jewel Weed Tokens.

And we would give out the normal amount of Trade tokens that would be generated with a 120 bag order. Can someone please calculate that? We will round up on the GP and Trade token numbers to give a slight benefit to those who take this option. By "round up" I mean add something like 5-10% to thank them for saving us some money -- and keeping Dave's mailbox in working order.

As far as random Ultra Rares go you would be guaranteed one UR, plus you would have a 20% chance to get another, too. And since the Golden Tickets would be randomly put into this pot of URs, you would have the normal chance to get a GT, too.

The Lore/Rumor Uncommon and Rare tokens would just be sent to you in separate bulk bags, with the random URs mixed into the Rare bag. For a 120 bag order you would get:

Lore: 60 random tokens in a bag <100% are copper
Rumor: 60 random tokens in a bag <100% are copper
Uncommon: 240 random tokens in a bag <10% are platinum
Rare: 120 random tokens in a bag (with mixed in 1.2 URs) <10% are platinum

To make this work with the factory, we would have to receive all special pre-orders for these condensed packs between Nov. 16 and Dec. 1st.. People will have to email or call us later to let us know how much of their order they want in condensed bags. For instance, if you bought $3,000 worth you would have to let us know by Dec. 1st that you want $1,000 of it to be in condensed form and the other $2,000 in normal 10-packs.

In order to make this work we will have to make up some special sticker sheets for the Jewel Weed Extract tokens, so it is not without some start up costs. However, if enough people do it, it will be worth it financially -- not to mention the reduced burden on Dave and the collectors to reduce the whole Trade Token dynamic.

Let me know what you think...and if you think you might take advantage of this. Thanks.
Hi Jeff,

What are the increments you can break the order into? If you order $2K worth of tokens, can you do $1500 regular and $500 "condensed", or do the "condensed" tokens need to be ordered in $1K increments?

Thanks,
Mike

I was thinking of offering it only in $1,000 increments since this is only really useful to a handful of large buyers. However, if you guys say you want it smaller, we can do $500 increments. We can just split the numbers we generate here in half.

This sounds like a good option for many people, but I can't get that large an order.

As far as random Ultra Rares go you would be guaranteed one UR, plus you would have a 20% chance to get another, too. And since the Golden Tickets would be randomly put into this pot of URs , you would have the normal chance to get a GT, too.

mmm.... pot of URs....

Lazlo - I wouldn't worry too much about combos - remember, you're only getting reduced numbers of commons. Jeff calculated that a 1k order gets an average of 18 of each common. The only combo items that would have been problematic in the past the Orchorn Shortbow which needed 7 MW arrows, and the Staff of Striking which needed 10 quarterstaves, if I remember right. We just need to beg Dave to not use mass quantities of commons in recipes, or give us an alternate that uses rares or uncommons.

We'd be interested in 1k worth of 'lite' bags.
