Can someone please now go through the Common images and figure out the exact amount of GP value that a $1,000 order would normal receive on average? Keep in mind that $1,000 order is 120 bags. We would send this to you in the form of Reserve Tokens with your special "condensed" purchase.

If my math and counting skills are correct, there should be 1710 GP (assuming 18 of each GP-valued common token). Also, there would be 144 weapon tokens and 90 armor tokens.

I come up with the same numbers (120 bags):

1710 GP
144 Weapons
90 Armor

Also:

72 Gear
90 Scrolls

As far as healing goes, I certainly wouldn't mind if older tokens were substituted such as Potion: Cure Minor Wounds. This assumes of course that you have the turned in copies laying around somewhere. I doubt anyone would complain if it saves TD money.

Also to consider is the Faerie Water as it equates to healing when combined with the Goblet. 18 of those would equate to 9 more points of healing. Should it be factored in?

Good point! That should definitely be factored in. But by my math, it would be 27 points of healing per 18 Faerie Waters. (2 Faerie Waters = 3 HP healed)
Have you looked it up in the TDb ?

You know it might be tempting to try this, but my buy will be less this year so I am undecided.

The URs are not as tempting as last year and the ONYX set is just too expensive to keep up with year after year. I miss the old proof token days...

Still I might go with 120 condensed and 120 regular...but I don't know, I am leaning towards just buying all regular bags because some of the common stuff is pretty tempting to get in large numbers...
I'm kind of in the same boat - probably around the same dollar amount as Gary, and while it is tempting to get part of the order as the smaller packs (I have more than enough tokens piled up around the house already), there are several great commons this year that I don't want to miss out on. I'm also worried about getting enough commons for all of the combo tokens that I want to get (since I outfit the group I might want up to 9 of any great ones). Since there is a lot of variability in quantities of tokens, it might take a whole $2K order to get at least 9 of each.

I'm also not sure of the need to me of more of the Trade Item tokens you get for common tokens. I have a pretty good supply of them already, without much to spend them on. I might already have a lifetime supply of them.

If I was doing a larger order, I'd definitely get some of it as smaller packs. I'd bet that some of the $8K purchasers will get some as smaller packs - most people don't need an average of 72 of each common.

Good point on the Trade item tokens...had not thought about that.

I guess the real deal for me is the relative security of getting the full pack - then seeing what I have too much of later on down the line.

I just cashed in a ton of tokens to Dave for trade and reserve stuff...I'm betting on most of that stuff not ever being missed.

Arrghh. Looks like we would have to provide 18 Faerie Water tokens, too -- in addition to the 18 Jewel Weed Extract tokens.

Jeff,

Would it help lower your cost if you printed some larger denomination healing tokens, and gave less of them? If you printed a token that healed 5 points, you could just send 9 of those with a $1K order instead of the 36 Faerie Water and Jewel Week Extract tokens.

It appears that for each $1,000 you want in the condensed format, you will get this:

18 Jewel Weed Extract Tokens
18 Faerie Water Tokens

Lore: 60 random tokens in a bag <100% are copper
Rumor: 60 random tokens in a bag <100% are copper
Uncommon: 240 random tokens in a bag <10% are platinum
Rare: 120 random tokens in a bag (with mixed in 1.2 URs) <10% are platinum

1,800 in GP (rounded up from 1710 GP)

6 Dwarven Steel Tokens (rounded up from 144 weapon tokens)
4 Minotaur Hide Tokens (round up from 90 armor tokens)
3 Darkwood Plank Tokens (rounded up from 72 gear tokens)
4 Alchemist Parchment Tokens (rounded up from 90 scroll tokens)

Please check my "figurin'" and make sure this is correct.

I guess the thing to do now is to try to determine if anyone is going to take advantage of this program. I will ask Dave post the 2010 formulas very soon.

My only issue with that is nine 5-point healing tokens is not the same as fifteen 3-point tokens. There are definitely occasions when a smaller healing amount is preferred. If I'm only down three HP, it seems wasteful of a precious resourced to burn a 5-point heal.

Obviously, there are also times when a big heal is the best option. But if I'm forced to choose between all bigs or all smalls, I'll take the smalls.

We are definitely planning to get 1 $1k condensed. Beats having to deal with the sheer quantity of tokens (only to have to pay to ship them to Dave later).
