TOPIC: Fake Token up for sale on E-Bay?

I'm not 100% sure, but this auction looks to be a fake! Go and take a look for yourself, and if anyone "official" from TD can verify this, please do so! The reason I think it is fake is that I didn't think that there were any tokens that said True Dungeon.com on them. If I remember correctly the tokens all had True Dungeon written on them with the following markers:

2003: No marker
2004: Star
2005a: Some sort of squiggly griffon(?)
2005b: Some sort of maker I can't identify.

The TD Token Guide shows pictures of each series. None of them have ".com" on them. Of course, this is an ultra rare so I don't know if it is different on the back side. Can someone fill me in on this? Thanks.

The .com backs are the new ULTRA-RAREs from INDY 2005...

And 2005a is the face/cloud blowing wind
2005b is a Dragon head with a fancy D around it - I think...

Thank you very much, its good to know there are so many people looking out for the event!
I may be wrong, but I believe the set of Ultra Rares this year were printed seperately from the 2005 A & B sets. And did have TrueDungeon.Com printed on the back. I think. So this might not be a fake. I'm sure one of those more knowledgeable in tokens could probably clarify.
I really hope that no one starts making fake tokens. And I hope that we continue to have those who are looking out for the event. Thank you for posting this John, it is appreciated.

There is no picture on this item and the description says that he acquired it at Indy a few weeks ago...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe this is a volunteer only token, given out last year. It would be nigh impossible for this guy to acquire one without a volunteer giving him one at the con. I think this might be a scam. Please, read before you bid! Or better yet, put an auction up for information with the bid at 0.01, and let people know that they aren't bidding on anything in the discription. I know this guy has a good rep, but seriously, this emminates scam material. He could even copy the previous auction pic for the ring.

Yeah I was in the break room when Jeff looked in his box and found out they where used.

And at least one was sold by a volunteer to a player at GenCon.
I think there was a "Silent" auction. The price was above $60.00 but I don't remember exactly what it was.

So I would bet (given the person 400+ rating) that the seller believes the ring to be genuine.

I just sent the following question to the seller about the item. perhaps we can get some additional information.

"Dear Zombie: I am interested in bidding upon this item; however I would like to know how it was acquired. Did you acquire the item yourself? Did you find it in a hidden area? There is speculation that some tokens may be counterfeited. Also, it may help to provide a picture of the item. Thank you for your response."

As stated in some of the previous posts there were a couple of rings that made it out in the dungeon before the mistake was caught. Most of them had been retreived before being used but a handful did end up in the hands of a few lucky people.
