TOPIC: Another 4C in 2011?

I don't feel strongly about a trade-in; I enjoyed the lore program, and don't feel that there's any need to personally receive more of a benefit from the tokens.<br /><br />That being said- I would definitely support an opportunity to send the tokens in (assuming that they can be reused or recycled in some way).  I don't know that I want to keep the 150+ lore tokens that I have lying around, but I hate to just throw them in the trash.

<br /><br />I would think just give them a gp value (the average GP from all the commons from this year) and you can use them in making combo tokens. 

<br />If the monster trophiy trade token makes the cut, I am leaning toward making it a 10/per trade.  Yes, I know it is counter to the rest that all go off of 25 or 25 units per trade, but 25 puts it out of reach of most players who have not been active for more than two years.<br /><br />Dave<br />

<br /><br />Dave,<br /><br />If the quantity is that low, maybe you would just want to forget the Trade Item Token and have in the ingredient list "5 of any Ingredient Tokens" for a combo token.  Or would that add too much time to the combo turn-in process? 

I think the idea was for more long term planning on the monster trophies.  By having the trade in, people could get them off their hands, if they wanted to and that give me some time to be a bit more careful in assessing what they should be worth, other than accepting x number as a substitute for something else.  If you want, you can think of it as essentially the same type of substitution, it is just that I have set the incrament to 10x.  I am assuming that those people who have ingredients from this year (beyond how ever many sets they might desire to collect) will likely not use them in 2011's combos, rather they will pay the GP and trade them in for the Trade item, since they will not be used in the 2012 4C.<br /><br />As far as the lore tokens, I am still hashing that out with Jeff.  I would imagine (and this is just me talking here) that we will have something that can be done with the old lore tokens, I am thinking along the lines of an exchange of extra lore tokens for additional information.  Much will depend on the scope of the lore program for next year so it is hard to give you a definitive answer.  It is also difficult because the lore and token programs overlap, but my involvement in the lore program may or may not be extensive, depending on how much other stuff is going on.<br /><br />So yes, I want to do something for you, but right now it is just my desire to help out, I do not know how it may fit in Jeff's broader vision.  <br /><br />Dave

I do not want to see the Lore tokens used as a substitute for ingredients.  No thank you.  Give them a GP value (5-10gp) and get people to trade them in if they don't want a box of them taking up space.

I have been led to understand that giving them "value" as in trade for GP or trade for a "trade item" is out.  Jeff promised they would have no value and he is sticking to that.<br /><br />I think the best we may be able to do is to offer some sort of Lore 2011 trade in option where people send in x lore tokens for access to special, diferent, or early access to clues.<br /><br />Dave

<br /><br />I think Jeff's reason for not giving them value is for the people that got condensed orders and chose to get a complete set of them instead of one random one per pack.  Giving the Lore tokens value would work just fine if some sort of compensation were give to those people (like getting some amount of "credit" towards trade item tokens or whatever the value gained from Lore tokens will be).  I don't think anyone other than those people would be harmed by giving Lore tokens value.

<br /><br />But in a way, the people with condesed pack did get a bonus already, and probably do not need additional compensation.  <br /><br />They got a sheet of all the ingredients for combo tokens above and beyond the immediate value in Trade Items (Planks, Steel, etc.) and Monetary Bars (Gold bars, etc.) they got initially with their condensed orders.  So they got I think X (4 or 6 I do not recall it might have varied by rarity of each item) of each item, per condensed pack, for all the combos so during turn in they gave the people at the desk a peice of paper and they were marked off.  <br /><br />So while this does not bother me and I think it was fine given the new nature of condensed pack.  I think the low GP value of the lore tokens could easily offset the value of what they were given in "bonus" combo items which included many gems, scrolls, and other items this year.

That is a good point.  I worked the turn-in, and I saw a number of people use the sheets for token turn-in.  It was possible to get a number of the Elixirs just using the sheets, and it helped greatly towards the other tokens too. 

I got two condensed sets (with the one complete set of Lore option), I'm fine with no additional compensation for the "missing 80 Lore tokens".  I would like to see a GP value or trade item, additional info doesn't thrill me as it will probably leak out anyway.

It would not be fair to give any kind of value to Lore tokens now...after announcing that they would never have value.  Sorry!<br /><br />Thanks for the input and I hope you understand.<br /><br /><br /><br />
