TOPIC: Amorgen's Character Designer (Excel Spreadsheet)

I did notice one flaw in the latest version.

Boots of Free Action text says "Immunity to hold, slow & webs", when it should actually say "Immunity to hold, slow & other hindrances".

"Other" is a pretty big category, so just "webs" is misleading, especially if printed on the party card.

I'll update it whenever we have another update to the file. When I created the Excel file, I based it on data from truedungeonfans.com in 2007/2008 and updated using data from Dave Radtke's pdfs. I guess no one caught that the text was wrong all this time. Congrats. Maybe one of the early proofs said web instead of other hindrances.

Hey Amorgen, I noticed there is a "Ring of Heroism" listed in your program - is there such an item in the game? If so can anybody link me to a recipe, etc?

The Ring of Heroism will be a less expensive way to get to fifth level. It is a transmuted item, but it will be a multi-year item, requiring ingredients from runs over the next couple of years.

Amorgen, For your next update - Darkthorn Helmet and Shield are listed in the token data as Armor under the classes instead of Head, Off-Hand, or whatever. So they are not select-able in the intend slots. Thanks!

Heya folks, I just noticed that Office 365 is now being offered for iProducts as well as the Android Phone OS. Has anybody tried opening Amorgen's Spreadsheet in either? Do they work?

Fingers crossed, I wont have to buy a $800 surface for it to work and can opt for a 7" android (or iPiddle).

EDIT the android version is a service-based software but you can try a 30 day free trial.

Ok so the iPhone version will open the spreadsheet (on whatever tab you left it open on last) but on my iPhone 4 it is either running so slow that you cant view anything but the stats on a character page, or so slow that the ability to change items (even view them) is not possible.

Let me know if anybody else has any better luck on android?

If you want to try out the old OpenOffice version (last updated in 2011), I've temporarily uploaded it to my site. I've thought about redoing the designer next year and trying to make a version that will work on both Excel and OpenOffice (even though we'd lose a little functionality). But, if it would work in Office 365 for iOS, that may be a step forward as well.

Hey Amorgen! I'll most def give the OpenOffice version a shot! Thanks for posting that.

Here's an update from today's schenanagins I did at BestBuy on break (and my results).

I found out that Offcie 365 isnt ready for the Tablet Android OS yet (Nexus 7), but it IS avaialble for the Android phone OS.

I had a buddy try opening your spreadsheet on the Galaxy S3 - it hung the app for 365 and overheated the phone (awesome job I must say if you are trying to blow up your phone)

I then went to BestBuy and tried it on the S4 and reached the same results as I did with office 365 on the iOS - it seems to read the spreadsheet (VERY SLOWLY) but you cannot modify it.

Upon more research I do not believe Office 365 supports lookup tables or macros fully, therefore it is very cumbersome and ultimately does not work well or at all...yet!

Anyways I'll see if I can get your OpenOffice version to work the next time I head to the store early next week. Have you guys had any luck with Android and OpenOffice yet?

Oops, missed the last update.

The +2 Spear of Dragon Slaying is listed as a compound, melee, and ranged weapon in the Token Database, but doesn't appear to be showing as an option for ranged weapon.

For receiving other people's data, is there a quick way to copy that into the running spreadsheet I have created?
